I said that a bit glibly....first I'm going to try and get through the 50K London Ultra on Feb 20th - which is actually on my 50th birthday and my first ultra!
Can't believe you are doing IM and Ultras in same year!
Hi Purple tri ( that was yr nomiker before??) Yep- hope to see both you and Max at ye olde Grizzly
Hi there Triumphant- lovely to see so many of you back on here!
Hi team! I'm back for a second year of tri. Signed up for Outlaw this time last year and had a great time learning the ropes. RBMax was brilliant for advice and support throughout. Meldy, too, though I hope she doesn't read this...
she did
Regensburg for me .. I think the plan starts about 14th January so I might just sit around and eat chocolate til then
same with me was still feeling cr@p this morning so took the day off started feeling much better this afternoon so i just done 45 minute very easy on the turbo felt nice , back into work tomorrow for sure so I will whack in a nice easy unstructured swim at the end of the day (I am lucky I have a 25m pool 10 minutes walk from my office which is usually fairly empty and costs me the princely sum of £55 a year) also a swimming area in the sea is 15 mins run away but not this time of the year
Ladyfe..................That challenge looks hard.not sure I could handle laps.....................just remembered my June IM is all laps.............26 of them for the run
I have cycled 90mins and run 90 mins off road in the dark today.so a good start to the week
Very true Melds I am for ever eating when IM training but I have to watch what I chuck in as you need the right stuff to get the energy for training, half the time tho if it gets within range it gets eaten
Bit of an interval run this morning followed by a 2.2km swim session-first one in a couple of weeks. Have found it very difficult to motivate myself to go swimming during the recent Baltic weather - this is totally psychological as I swim in an indoor heated pool, its not like I'm breaking the ice to get in or anything. It just sort of seems "wrong", so took advantage of the relatively balmy spell we're having at the mo' before Siberia returns on Saturday. Later, will hopefully hit the turbo for an hour of suffering, followed by therapeutic chocolate. Mmmm.
Evening everyone. I'm not planning IM till 2012 but I'm enjoying this thread to get some idea of what I'm letting myself in for next year and to pick up some top tips. Good luck to all, I'll be watching you.
Henley for me, and so far it will be my 2nd tri. Did a sprint this August and had a fab time. Training is 'sporadic' after the summer, and am now down with plague, but I intend to start some sort of plan in the new year so spending the next week or so devouring Be Iron Fit.
Need to learn how to crawl for longer than 2 lengths at a time.....
Hi all, being new to this can you please tell me what a Turbo is (sorry for being thick lol)
Did 9mile run last night and my road bike came to day (just need to put it together ) plan is to get down to local pool at sometime this week. Just gonna tick over with training till newyear then will start properly. Thats why im in here to get ideas lol ordered my book that Ridgebackmax suggested so waiting for that to turn up,then i'll realise what im letting myself in for

Chochlate is an essential training food, as it comes from a plant dosent it sort of count as one (or two) of your five a day
seriously chocolate and beer my big downfalls
My PX Stealth looks sad it has two flat tyres as it hasnt turned a wheel in anger since Outlaw come January that is going to change
I could blow really hard??!
Apparently you HAVE to eat a lot!
Curry is my fuel of choice
I think some people in the last few years have put weight on, fuel and refuel sensibly and you wont go far wrong
