I used to race on the national 4X circuit but ruined my shoulder two years ago and have been searching for something a little safer but equally as rewarding. I think triathlons might be the answer but having only recently made this decision I have little or no clue where to go from here...
Come back you can play in the sand pit? There is a training for a shorter tri thread in the tri bit of the forum if you don’t want to go for a full beast yet.
Surly any start is a bad start considering you're supposed to be resting. But sayinng that if you didn't start because the pool was closed then that is a good start.
I started with a brick (32 mile bike - 3.8 mile run).
Tweaked my back walking my dogs across the fields yesterday morning. A cheeky fox sauntered out of the woods right in front of us just as I was about to clip my male dobermann's lead back on.
He hates them with a vengence and as he lurched forward I slipped in the mud, twisting awkwardly as I went down.
Just to add to that I've just got my first cold in years.
So I'll sit the next couple of sessions out and catch up next week.
30 min run done and sneaked in some TI swim drills afterwards in practice for my endless pool session tomorrow. Hard to do much with lanes roped off for lengths and kids in the unroped bit when I've got to do floating stuff without using my arms. But a big tick put against day 1.
2K swim Friday, beasted by Cat5 on the MTB for 2 hours Saturday morning, 400M swim & 4 mile run yesterday. 10oz expertly cooked rump steak for tea today with fried mushrooms in butter, deep fried chips, curry sauce and a pint of Coke.
my 30 week doesn't start till boxing day but have decided to start this week tu get adjusted to the idea of structure in my training and also to allow for any missed sessions later on. so yesterday was a rest day and tonight will be 30 mins run. if only it was this easy all the way through
Fink Swim #18 done this morning. 30 minutes my arse. Managed to do it but took around 50 minutes. Couldn't really get going this morning but managed to suffer through it. Only had about 3 good lengths in all of that!
Running with the club tonight. Not sure what they've got planned, so may head off by myself rather than get caught up in any speedwork that they might be doing.

Rest day for me to start with.
Good Luck Everyone
Running for me today
Ooooooh! The day has arrived Good luck everyone. Enjoy your training or rest day whichever you're starting with.
Can't wait to see you 1st July.
Hi Jevans -we've missed you. *waves*
30 mins lunchtime run, sorted !!
It's not bad this Fink training
Moi aussi! Couldn't face a "CBA" in the diary so early on.
Hey guys, this sounds great count me in.

First mistake: Assuming The Outlaw was an Olympic Distance tri.
*backing down.
Bad start - went to the pool to kick off Week 30 and the pool was closed.....oh well, 30 weeks to recover this lost session.
Good luck everyone - I am using Fink again having used it twice for IM and found it to be excellent.

Roll on the alarm going off at 6AM for the pre-work swim!
See you all in 30 weeks!! Good luck everyone!
May have to try with the afterwork crew tomorrow ...
Alarm set for (early) tomorrow for a swim.
Guess I'd better go and back some stuff rather than running around like an idiot tomorrow morning.
Blues jam tomorrow eve on the guitar in Purley.
Chinese takeaway Wednesday.
I think it may need fine tuning.
A little.

Decided to head out by myself after all. 15 minute run, took longer to get ready than actually run.
Don't suppose someone could post the breakdown of Swim #19 - left the book at work and planning to go to the pool 1st thing.
30 Minute run done today, trying to keep in zone 2 is very tricky at the moment, want to push harder...
Swim tomorrow as i missed today, supposed to do a 30 min session on turbo and 15 min run...cant wait
