I'd probably be looking at 9 mins ish if I could swim the sprint distance so I don't feel like a fraud anymore! I think I'll at least get to half ironman (eventually) then who knows?! All down to time and cash really, with a wife soon to be, youngsters and a full time job it isn't easy to fit all those training hours in. Always looking for a new challenge tho, prob an early midlife crisis or something!!!
The first time I did Nantwich it took me 16 mins for the Sprint swim then I think since then I've done it in 12. From what you've said you'd do the Sprint quicker than me. I was going to do the super-sprint but thought I could easily do the Sprint. If I was you I'd change to the Sprint.
Already booked in now and not sure if I could manage the 400m by then (not front crawl anyway) my plan was to do the super in may then the sprint in September but I can't make that now. I'll prob look for a sprint event in July/ august then look to try Olympic distance next year if my training goes ok.
What I meant to say is that if you can do a BS faster than a crawl over the brine pool then why not do that instead? I am MILES faster at BS and I can do it all day long. FC makes me knackered!
Can't say I'd ever want to crawl for shit Liverbird, seems like a crap reward to me (cheap pun & toilet humour fully intended) Regarding breaststroke I did consider it but I want to sort out my front crawl to give my best on the bike & run. Was Nantwich your first tri?
Committed to the cause then SA?! I know what you mean about the atmosphere, the great north run was my first ever running event and it hooked me straight away with the spirit from runners and spectators alike. I have to say tho that Liverpool is my favourite course. A bit sore today tho, think I'll get on my recently purchased turbo for half an hour when my little girl has her afternoon nap. May even put it in the garden for some sun so I don't feel like I'm in prison!

I'm exactly the same. I'm not convinced yet about this crawl being better malarky...
Really?! It does make sense in theory as you don't need to use your legs as much. I suppose it matters more on the longer distances. What distance have you covered?
I can't swim breastroke, I actually do sink....so FC for me all the way.
Nantwich is a great little race, very beginner friendly, usually lots of pirate support, awful water - very salty, almost as bad as the usual stuff liverbird drinks.
Rather you than me Dave, not tried a TT bike but the aggressive position looks horrendous. Stick with my normal road bike for now. Are you suggesting that LB has a slightly louder than average voice?
Eh, nothing wrong with a scouse accent! Well, not a normal one anyway. Unfortunately some scousers have decide to harshen the accent even more which really grates on me. She's not one of those is she?!
As for the tri, I have some surgery planned for May so I'm probably a DNS. And before Holgs or Dave suggest its either to sew my gob up or it's cosmetic, it's WIMMIN'S problems....
I don't think I want to participate in this "wimmins problems" debate, best left alone. Gonna peruse that mag now. I live in a fake scouser land now anyway, so nowt wrong there, although I am an actual scouser.

No that was the sprint distance, didn't seem worth getting wet for 200metres with the bike and the run being the same course.
I think your current swimming would see you mid table for that anyway.
Be careful on these forums, I was enjoying training for this as my first tri when I signed up for IM, it is addictive.
Also did Liverpool half yesterday, but no where near you speed merchants.

Blimey - even I can do it in 11 odd minutes and I'm really bad.
I just can't crawl for shit.
That sounds wrong...

Still have my Tshirt from the 2001 race
Enjoyed it, but for a race with 7500 runners the atmosphere was a bit flat
How did you do SA?
OK for me 2:05:16 (not under my name)
used as a training run as ran 10 miles on Thursday and then 2 hour bike saturday.
Missed you, but did see JP, Cougie, GarrsMateNigel and Cake
Did you enjoy it?

Big Al - Nantwich is my ONLY tri. I've done it twice.
LB you in this year?
If she is you'll hear her about 45 minutes before you get there !
Just taken the TT bike out for th efirst time since IMUK..... Aaargh my neck and back
Are you suggesting that LB has a slightly louder than average voice?
Imagine the loudest thing you could ever imagine.................
....................... then double it and add a scouse accent
Decided that should have been! Not decide.
I have a scouse LILT not a scouse accent.
I am a fake scouser see.....
Other than that I am bloody wonderful.

Having your hands and fingers extended, So you can carry more shopping bags ?
Look I'm married to a consultant gynaecologist, I know and hear more about wimmins problems than any man should have too
Anyway, I'm sure Holgs will want MY autograph now I'm famous.....
