I'd stick with 5k or less until your pace gets up, then work on the distance. I find now I don't get any quicker, but do 12 miles at the same pace I do 4
Stunning, out running 1st thing another easy 10k The mountain village we are in is at 1100 meters so higher than anything in England, makes it hard work.
The thermometer on the terrace in the shade is showing 35 c... I'm knocked.
900 km drive tomorrow to spend a few days watching the Tour in Northern France Home next weekend
no turbo dave. did a little on friday to loosen the legs up but rested otherwise. saturday by choice. sunday lost to school prep - but it does open a door on bala.
good ride this evening to make up. will attempt 5k run in the morning.
SgtLard - not sure if you have any local to you but have you thought about doing a weekly ParkRun? Not sure if you know anything about them but they are 5k weekly events run all over the UK on Saturday mornings at 9am. Free to register and enter, you get timed, treat it as a fitness benchmark, treat it as a race, totally up to the runner.
As my run fitness has improved my times have dropped and I'm now trying to break the 20 minute mark. I use the run as my max effort run and it fits in well with my other longer slower runs.
I've also gained a few running friends thanks to ParkRun. We turn up most weeks, run similar times and have a chat pre and post run.
Sgt Lard, what have you done this week in terms of calories in & out? do you monitor how much you're taking in via something like my fitness pal?
The only exercise based thing I can see on here for the last week is a single 5k run, has there been much more than that? otherwise you've worked off something like a king size mars bar this week so its probably not too surprising that weight loss hasn't followed
going out. tour de replay finished. finger extracted
and dave, you have to do that with a 60lb sand bag hanging off your shoulders or its not fair. you could go backwards. or even hop. beating me isn't really a challenge unless you cut a couple of limbs off and carry them around the course.
lazy maybe. 5am start. excuses definitely. sucking up time for sure
Watched the Tour, we were in the Pyrenees last year after we had watched the Vuelta, managed to climb the Tourmalet from both sides in one day... Knackered doesn't describe it
Must have lost some weight today been throwing up and sh!tting through the eye of the needle today. Fucking need to get over this got the cancer research relay for life on Saturday in charge of 15 13 year olds during it

Devoid of a competitive streak
Who cares, I'm in it for the medal!
Did 2 x 10kms yesterday and 1 tonight all under the hour..
