Don't worry RBM no rain has been ordered for the weekend - you wont need them it's stinking hot here at the mo' and is only going to get hotter as the week goes on!
Ooh getting excited now!!!!!!!!! Right, happy packing everyone, don't forget the sunscreen (which I went to Tescos to get....and forgot, d'oh!). I'll see you all tomorrow, woop woop!
I've been dipping in and out of this thread for the last few months and always found it really helpful, particularly during tough spells in training. Thank you!
I am sure that you will all do brilliantly this weekend and I wanted to wish you the very best of luck.
I did my first IM last week in Austria and absolutely loved it. There is loads of good advice on here but to throw in mine, I would say keep it simple!! Eat, drink and keep moving forward - the rest will take care of itself.
I'm here at Hand campsite and still excited rather than nervous but no doubt that will change tomorrow. At least we've got great weather for it. Currently debating what to wear under my wetty as I've only done swim suit or tri top and shorts before but as I'm wearing cycle shorts for the bike I'll need to change. But in this heat I like the idea of setting off in a soggy Monaco !
Good luck everyone this weekend. Have followed this thread for last 3 months! But first time post before I enter the world of Tri.
Maybe without knowing it you have all been inspirational and got me up and running reading about your training plans, you have got this in you to complete. So go out there and smash it!
monaco and cycle shorts under wettie - saves loads of time faffing with dry gear on a wet body - have you ever tried to change into a tight top after a swim session, couple that with race day adrenaline and youll end up with it rolled up round your armpits
youll soon dry of on the bike as it looks to be 16°C at 7am
see you all saturday afternoon or more than likely in the pub
I'm undecided about kit as the 27c forecast has thrown me. Plan was Monaco under wettie and cycle top over that in T1, but given it will be so hot I was thinking no top under the wettie and cycle top on in T1 and save monaco for T2. Thoughts?

That's my plan anyway - Monaco and tri shorts under wettie and the all the way...not had a beer (have had a few single malts...) for 4 weeks. 140.6 miles under my own steam should be a fair trade to get wasted on Sunday night
I'm with you Darkness but I will be putting bib shorts on I think, was it you that said you have got surplus salt tabs, I'll have some off you if going spare.
