Took this week off as I just felt clattered. A steady 30 minute run this morning and going to gradually get back on it once Christmas is over. Still have not picked a race though.
90 mins on the bike today.... caught up with a local cycling club at train crossing.... offered a chance to sit on the group.... got dropped by local cycling club about 1/2 mile after crossing.....
lets be honest.... its all prep for an Ironman on my 100th birthday
Well, it seems I may be a little fitter than I thought I was.
Had a 10k today and, since I haven't run further than 3 miles since about August was expecting to struggle. However, although it was slow, I managed to pace it right with just enough left in the tank to race the clock to a sub 70. Like I said, not quick but much better than expected.
Hi all - new to the forum but not to IM, and training for Nice next year, with the planned arrival of my first child in April promising to make it a less-than-stellar season!
The long run in the rain today was surprisingly enjoyable as I ease back in after a 3-month recovery period though...
Two rain soaked hour on the bike this morning where I was wetter than my dry weather 8.5 mile run on friday when some twat in a white van deliberately soaked me from a very muddy puddle then tooted to congratulate himself
Fun santa run run yesterday though through town centre, entertained shoppers in farmers market
Everyone seems to be bang at it at the minute, i had saterday, sunday and Today off this week, as the other half was away getting smashed for the weekend while i head in into month 5 with not a drop (which is a good effort for me). after my coulple of days off tho a feel like i need a bit of inspiration to get me back on the Wales band wagon.
Did a boot camp this morning but made the mistake of sitting down when I came home from work so the swim never happened...schoolboy error! Down the pool at 6.30am tomorrow it is then.
Iron Pugsley - Well done on surviving Manfluenza, many don't!
Hopefully that's the illness out of the way now, but make sure you eat well, getting plenty of antioxidants from food and or supplements to boost your immune system while you're training hard.
