Oh do come along IW - its gonna be a bit quieter than last year I reckon !
And I unpacked my race bike for the first time since Frankfurt last weekend. I've been riding my winter fixed since last July. What are these gear things again ?
be careful you don't fall off cougie. nearly fell off my summer bike 3 times before i got ot the end of the road. bit strange not having the pedals coming back round at you.
tee hee - I did a lil 50 miler on it on Sunday and it all came back pretty quickly. Even the Look Pedals werent a problem. Not put the tribars on yet though - after FLM.
So if i do 2;40 for the swim again I have to do 100k (first loop plus the stick from the lake) in 3 hours allowing 5 mins for transition, tha means errrmmmmm 62 miles in 3 hours
33kph, 21 mph ave ....... no wonder i missed the cut off even if only by 8 mins, I would have needed an engine.
Jj are you still down the pool, can I come and play please
i reckon after what happened last year (ie discontented people missing first lap cutoff due to not being cycling gods) if you do 2:40 your day is over!

I may be there to support - IF I'm not still walking wounded from my efforts at Roth the weekend before.

Peter Reid / CAN, 3-facher IRONMAN HAWAII-Sieger
Stick that in your pipe Kona ! Ha ha ha !
See Rosey - you wouldnt wanna go there anyway, after IMDE its a bit of an anticlimax....
Cut off for swim is 2.20
Swim and first Lap = 5.45 (as if ANYONE could fall foul of that)
So - assuming we do a 2.20 swim - we still have 3hours 20 to do 56 miles. So thats a 17 mile an hour average. So pedal like b*ggery ! Easy eh ?
Then we have 4 and a quarter hours to do the next lap. So thats 13 miles an hour. We can stop for a picnic.
