I'm so glad you both got officially accepted and that you both had a great time.
I think people were begninning to worry that something had gone wrong when you didin't post earlier, but now we know that it was all OK we can wait for the details.
OMG!!!! I just read this news on my facebook profile and then read your report and I am welling up..... Fantastic news on both fronts, FLM & your award, both so so so so so so so well deserved
Our local papers are going to do a story, but i said it can wait until after Shakespeare Marathon, then we can round off a super month of April
And plus, it'll all be in /forum/smilies/confused_smiley.gifhowGlossaryDefinition('RW');]RW, at end of month, that's more excitemenet to look forward to
I've been really touched my ( tearfully emotionally touched ) by posts and e mails from people
We do so THANK you all
I really am going to take a while to get over all this
Oh, how the London marathon was so easy, There were other suppporters at 18 miles was it ?? - they where i believe Pirates ???
Mike Frog was there, and it may be where Hashette was - my mind can see all these different people at different places, but quite where they actually were is just something else
I'm still very much in a state of shock by it all - my blog was Not exactly Precise in that sence
As for the H & S fears, as i said, there just was'nt any !!!
i do so hope we have encouraged others to feel fit and real good,
I'll keep posting as i remember and think of things
But remember - you all take care, as WE your HEROES most definately will
Mick that was the forum support stand at Mudchute (mile 17). Soz for not coming and giving you and Phil a hug but was too busy looking like a right nana and having a good cry!!
I've been checking every site & thread over the last couple of days Mick and I can't remember the last time I've been so eager to log onto the internet to check for updates.
I'm so glad the FLM run went ok (never had any doubts that it would either). Have the organisers given you any feedback yet? I was wondering how what you did may benefit other wheelchair racers? Do you think this may have a positive impact on their chances of participating in future events from the back of the field?
I've been checking out photos of the event and some of them are amazing. Just to see the look on both of your faces cracks a smile on my face from ear to ear. I can't imagine what you must have been feeling inside although if they ever bottle it, I'll be first in the queue!!
Mick n Phil, theres a bunch of forumites doing shakespere. Were meeting by the tourist office close to the start and will be wearing green ribbons. Please come over and say hi if you have time before the start. We'd love to meet you both.
Have you had to report H&S wise back to FLM organisers, hope they agreed that all thier fears were totally unfounded.
In demand i've been busy this afternoon trying to catch up with life - ordering monthly medication etc for Mrs Mick & Phil
I got asked today, how does one live with taking all this medication, - i replied, if my wife does'nt take it She DOES'NT live full stop
I have just spoken to a friend of mine, on the phone who said- - i had a feeling Mick that you had no idea just how much your in public demand, perhaps now you'll realise just how much fellow runners look up to you for everything
i had to be honest and say- I did'nt know it's true, i just see myself as an ordinary bloke - ok perhaps Super fit, but an ordinary bloke - he said NO Mick, they look to you to lead thwe way with inspiration- hence , this award
You sure are in demand Mick! In between Runners World and Fetch it's hard to keep upto date with all the comments. There must be a dozen threads all dedicated to Mick n Phil, Marathon Lads.
Thanking ALL of you SO Much There's just TOO many of you to mail individually - SO
I would like to THANK all of you very much for all of your support and kind words of congratulations etc over the last few days
i have very much tried today to come back down to earth and get on with life - oh, yes were happy and elated , and we'll never forget what you've all done
Do get on with life, but do also continue to bask in the glory - you thoroughly deserve it!
LP xx
(...you do realise you've inspired me to go and bloody well register for the FLM ballot - and for other marathons if I don't get a place - when three months ago I never even considered myself capable of running a marathon?!?)
Be better on Monday when I'm at Heathrow about to head off on my hols!!!
See all your FLM pics are up now. They really are fantastic pics Mick. You can really see how much the day meant to you and Phil and just how much you enjoyed yourself!
you inspired me to go out for my first run in months last night. i kept putting it off all day and then i thought b***er this, i have two legs and they work and for once, i didn't have a migraine so off i go! and so i did - at 9.30pm last night! the local ruffians on the way to the kebab van kept me company
