  • Thanks, all. Well done you too Chris.

I'm thinking (as I've intended all along, really) of doing the 5-miler, and possibly the whole series, but I know there'll be pressure to join the club outing to Mansfield.

The next B'ham XC league meeting's the day before race #2.

  • Thanks guys, I did see them but I really want to keep my mileage up over the Winter in prep for a Half Marathon I am doing in Ireland in December.  Not much to choose from - unless I fancy a 100 mile + trip!
  • I think this will be my next one.

  • Hi Spence, recovered from last night's session? The air seemed to be turning a bit blue in your vicinity!

I did that last year and enjoyed it. There's even this review 'wot I rote'.

There is a bit of a hill, but it's all good.

  • hahaha RK, sorry about the language!! Did find it a toughie, but good image I guess I need to embrace 'hills' if I'm doing Windy!!image
  • Spence,

embracing hills is good for your all round running not just hilly courses. BTW, I thought you looked really strong last night. In case your not aware, I was your partner image

  • Oh!! lol thank you! image
  • Not sure if the Rugby '10' has been advertised on here - November 8th

I think the course has been changed this year so its 15K rather than 10 miles. I'm quite disappointed as I wanted to see if I could get my 10 mile pb down.

P.S. It's the last race in the 2009 Warwickshire Road Race League

  • To nick R-K's words, and links....

"I [too] did that last year and enjoyed it. There's even this review 'wot I rote' [somewhere in there]."

Think it'll be my next race now as I'm getting no response from the organisers of the Boxing Day XC I wanted to do.  Won't be running again in time for Rugby image

  • birmingham owl - have you put that thing on the web site yet???
  • hmm, that'll be a no - and i know you are online cos your web site says you are!!!

  • Sorry Lurker, It's on my list of things to do. Unfortunately they want me to do some work. Oops, what am I doing now?

    I'll do it today - I promise

  • Done it. Thanks Lurker

Yes, it's here, but they still have it a s10M.

    Did someone mention drinks?

  • you up for it R-K???
  • erm

that may not have read right
the cotswold shop and xmas market eve i mean

  • can you spread the word as it will be better if more people come
  • would be there but I'll be getting drunk in the woods that week image

(the cotwold / market thing I mean)

  • Lurker/Yeti (anybody else from BvH) - was going to come down and join next Monday - what time do I need to be there and what can I expect, etc?

  • 7 for 7.30 start
you can print off the route from the web site
we gather and then the chair or deputy tells us who has done what races over the weekend etc and any notices - bit like school assembly

and then we get into groups and then we run
find me or LJB1 and we will put you with someone who runs at your pace

  • Evening Roundy... I won't be there for a couple more weeks... hope you enjoy BvH though! image

  • oh and, you don't need to join for the first few weeks, you get to try us out first

  • and then if you don't like them you can always come here!! image
  • Thanks Lurker - wasn't expecting to have to pay subs on the first nightimage

Thanks for the offer Spence - I'm sure they're all ok at BvH though !!

  • Nice try Spence!

Roundy - most of them are OK, but there are one or two nutters...

As for the other thing, not too bothered about the shopping, but might be tempted to the German Beer Market, erm, Xmas Market (you know what I mean!). That's if my running buddy doesn't mind missing a Wednesday run (are you lurking Joe?)

I seem to have stopped getting alerts again - happens every now and then for some reason.

I was hoping for more than just one or two...I'll fit in well then! image
  • there might be a third... but she doesn't turn up that often....image (only if there's beer on offer)
  • A running club where there's drink  as well image
