Ha, a friend of mine did that once behind a fit female runner. Unfortunately he wasn't looking where he was going, stumbled, and instinctively grabbed the first thing to stop him falling - her nice bum!
She was less than impressed at being grappled from behind!
"So you are a serious, non competitive, run for the love of it, 50-70m/week runner, don't care about race times but want to smash PBs, love the community of other runners yet runs alone, 10K pace daily runs, non drinking, non eating (anything decent), one paced no thought of training type of runner!
Well why didn't you just say?...I can't believe RW haven't got a category for that!"
This thread is hilarious...especially JM's bit above! Was actually reading this to find out about energy used to run a mile but having read all this I'm a bit frightened Oh well I'll go for it...but please don't pick on me feel free to analyse my training tho cause i dont have a clue!
Right...I really don't get how someone can eat under 2000cals and run at least 7miles a day and not loose serious amounts of weight or stop normal bodily function! Is it just me that has an increased appetite when I run!? What I want to know is roughly how much extra I need to eat if I run say 6miles in 55mins (yeah don't snigger ) I'm 9.4stone and 5ft 9 if that helps. You hear the 100cal a mile but that can't all be additional cals burnt on top of what you would use sat on your arse!? The reason I ask is that my weight dropped by 6lbs within 2 weeks of stopping high mileage (for me) marathon training and I just wonder if I was eating too much - although I only ate when I was hungry!x
Thanks D2D - our diets seem pretty similar tbh although I'm not veggie so would have meat/eggs rather than cheese as I can't stand the stuff! I don't touch pre-packaged stuff either...I'm a farm-girl you see I just found it odd that I lost weight after the marathon as I seemed to be eating more cause it was christmas and all
JM I reckon you'r right I'll just eat when I'm hungry and worry if my clothes get tighter!

JM my last race (3 Jan) wasn't too serious - it was a trail race in the ice and at one point we had to slide down a steep slope on our arses!
