Feeling REALLY nervous about tomorrow and mostly worried about falling down a hill in the mud and hurting myself! I'm a local and it's the first year I've lived here to do the event but the conditions look so tough. I'm 317 so cheer me on if you see me! Good luck everyone and just think about the pub at the end!

glad the sun came out for the 1st timers so they can see why this event is always rated highly

To paste from another thread I wrote on image

Anyway I had a good day marshalling as usual, lots of snogs from the ladies and the hairy one too. I think this is the one race I have had the most thank you's from runners.

London runners seem to be lost in their own world, while BH is mainly just another one on the calender and "without these marshals I wouldn't be able to run it" seems to be the thing in most peoples heads image.

Even the lead runners said thanks mate for your helping out. Which is certainly different from big races I marshal.

I was at the gate after the bottom of the 1st hill where you ran next to the river b4 starting the 7 bitches, and the rainbow looked like it was over Bo Peep from my end, couple of guys took pics of it with runners in the foreground.

I spoke to one guy in his late 50s early 60s who was really feeling the strain, it was his 1st marathon hehehehehehehheh I did see him finish though so good on him. Looks like me and B will need to get some training in for next year then. Might even go for a BH pb of sub 5.5hr image

Yay Nicko, be good to do some runs togetherimage I'd like to do as near to 5 hours as possible - a lot of training to do!

We were on the hill above the first checkpoint and then at the last descent - lots of thank yous and chats with runners - it was lovelyimage We ate at the school after but I was knackered and also didn't get to the pub

I have a few photos from yesterday if anyone is interested.  Is there somewhere I can post the photos I have?  I have no idea who the runners are, but someone somewhere might like them!
  • Options

you can load the photo's to your gallery here, though RW only likes small images.

Other than that there's plenty of free sites like photobucket.

Wandered how everyone got on. Glad to see it was drier than last year at least. Had some bright blue skies and warm sun.

Hey FB, if I had realised you were running would have looked out for you.  I was out supporting and saw Birdy fly past at Birling Gap and then down the hill at the finish. I always wish I was running when supporting but the year I did run it I hated it!! image

oohh my legs hurt especially my quads, went out on the lash last night when I got home from Beachy and thought I my legs didn't feel to bad but now ..oh my now  i'm paying for it, stairs have become like a slow techincal descent down mt Everest.image

The double rain bow at the end was trully spectacular, as the marshall at the top of beachy said, just go to the end of the rain bow and you are home.image

Who was the young lady in the Pirate top who came in at about 5:20 ish

imageI had a great day, so much better for being able to see people this year. It was nice to be just before the end too so we could see everyone come home. I didn't know all the pirates though - we will have to have a photo gallery for pirate spotters!

Had a great day, am in so much pain today though!

Slower than last yr, but took the scenery in and stopped at all the checkpoints to chat to my hubby...4hrs 25mins....I had forgotten how tough it was.

Fantastic event, so well organised and the marshalls are amazing.

Aha  Tommygun- you're a pirate, you were running with a lady in  a green vest. I met a lady in a green vest before the start who was looking for a pirate.

Parklife - are you Chrissie and if you are I hope you had a good race. I'll be booking in to the Big Sleep again next year.
