Anywhere between 4-5 hours for me, My legs haven't recovered as well as I'd hoped after Wolves last Sunday. Cake - Do you know of any decent rehydrating establishments?
Why did you assume I would be the man to ask? I know a few around Nottingham that are lovely but know the Edinburgh marafun rejects are planning a pub lunch after so wondering if we can join them or go somewhere nice?
Daft question for the south York’s lot. I’m in Leeds Saturday working and just realised last night that it’s not going to be very practical to travel straight to Nottingham from there and still get a nights sleep. Would anyone be willing to give a lift to a muppet on Sunday morning? Live at huntersbar but very flexible about where to meet up as long as it’s within distance for a bicycle.
Carrot - I'll be there on Sun I never entered Fleetwood in the end as no-one would answer my questions that I had - either on the thread here or in my e-mail to the organisers, so I thought Sod 'Em and to be honest there, I was glad I didn't put myself under any pressure there as my back was quite bad, but was better last Sunday (by which time I had already pulled out of Wolvo) so I ran a 10k as a fitness test and had no discomfort so still decided to push on with RH.
Does anyone know if I can drop down to the Half if my back does start playing up?
your right though, theres a load of us from Edi that are meeting up at the riverbank bar:
http://www.riverbanknotts.co.uk it on the right hand side of the start/finish line so easily within staggering/crawling distance after the race! the more RW lot the merrier! hope eveyones ready? weather is looking pretty good here at the moment, fingers crossed it stays until Sun!
You can run in over the half and you will get a time and everything so that is an option as you pass the half way point. Best not to dwell on that though or it can be a bit tempting!
Has anyone else been affected by the organiser's inconsiderate actions in delaying sending out race packs till the very last minute?
Didn't know whether to laugh or cry at their communal email today advising us "it's really important that you are properly prepared in terms of planning your journey..... and remembering your race number"
Are they taking the proverbial! What race number? I'd sat at home for the past 4 days waiting for it to arrive and had already planned to be 200 miles away in Birmingham with my son for a couple of days, based on their published deadline of Sept.6th for receipt of race packs.
I contacted the organisers but received neither explanation nor apology.
I've had to pull out due to injury and haven't managed to run for the last few weeks and still in discomfort.
Vixx - I rang the organisers to tell them about my injury and asked if I could defer they agreed to this if I could get a Dr's/Physio note to them. I will wait and see if they honour this arrangement?
I was amazed to get home from work today to find my race pack waiting for me! I had emailed them and they said they'd arranged a spare race pack for me to pick up in case it didn't arrive, but thankfully it has.
I think the race packs problem might be related to the t-shirts maybe they didn't get them all on time.
Right almost done for anouther day so will wish you all good luck now. Have a lovely chilled out saturday drinks lots, eat lots and see you on sunday. Most off all enjoy it.
The weather's looking pretty good really. I'll be wearing a black and red Man Tri vest. I'm also going to break a golden rule and wear new shoes. Well, they're not entirely new, but they've only got about 15 miles in them. I wasn't planning to introduce them properly until after Nottingham, but I've still got a bit of a niggle in my achilles so I'd rather have supportive new cushioned shoes than wear a pair that are nearing the end of their days. I've been running in the same model for years though so hopefully they'll be ok.
Gymfreak, 2 in 2 days, that's pretty hardcore - what are you doing tomorrow? Good luck.
Just one more day to get through. Best wishes all.
Garry, don't know if it's the usual price or whether it's just what they charged the weekend of the triathlon relays, but I paid £16 for 2 nights camping at the watersports centre a couple of weeks ago.
