    21. Oi!
    22. Stop it.
    23. Get down/off

Are you hungry? (Redundant - as it's the default position for Bob) image

Go pooooo! (I almost did then!) image

I also use 'off!' as in 'Off the bed, couch, cat, flowerbed'

    26. Oi!
    27. Stop it.

    Likewise...

It appears quite a few of these commands we have are interchangeable and probably are understood more by intonation than content...

    Moods

    Bob can read mine.

If I'm grouchy he stays in a different room and every now and again he'll look in
If I'm a bit down he'll be in my face bringing me his toys
If I'm concentrating working - he'll lie on top of my feet under the desk
If I'm happy he'll follow me around tail wagging
If I'm anxious - he'll sit staring at me and every now and again he'll let out a little whine.

I've caught him a few times studying my face when I come home to see what sort of mood I'm in. (I could be anthropomorphising here - but I don't think so)

If I'm watching football/rugby/cricket he knows the difference between a roar of 'goal!' 'Try' and 'Howzat!' to 'tackle him you useless tosser!'.

When my team does score he gets excited and runs around for a bit - when we concede he sighs (or that might be me!?)

    Oh yeah... and

    20. Good dog - praise
    21. Bad dog - i'm trading you in for a set of golf clubs
  • Options
Kara gets very anxious and whiney when I'm upset. I think to assume it's empathy or compassion would be anthropomorphising. The way I see it is that she looks at me as a pack leader, and she perceives my weakness as an indirect threat to her protection, that kind of thing? :-/
  • Options
    Another I'd forgotten:
Is it time? (can mean for food or walkies, dependent on time of day)

As for picking up on moods? I don't think she cares that much, TBH image
Polly, the spaniel however, is far more sensitive/receptive to me.

    LOL!!!!!!

Well Kara has a new trick... she can pick her own blackberries now... image

When we go walkies and I pick some blackberries I used to give her the odd one because she seems to like them...  Well little Ma'am has been watching that I only pick the dark ones...  so now she sits there and veeeery gently puts a carefully chosen ripe blackberry between her front teeth, takes it off the bush and noms it... then picks another one... always picking ripe ones... image

    *shakes head*

I'm home image  it cost me £180 extra and I was 4 hours late image but I think I can say that, having had a lovely weekend, I am no longer crap at relationships image  at least for the moment.

The resident dog loved me.  image The friends were slightly warmer towards me.  image The family still need some work although the one who was very sarky last time was a bit friendlier (I suspect words have been had though nothing said to me) the one who was offhand last time was even worse but she is basically just rude and disfunctional so I don't think it's any worse with me. <shruggy shoulders>
