I did manage to get out at midday and did 20 in 2:17 - not a blistering pace, but ok with that after this week.....if I'd missed a long run completely this week it would have played on my mind, and there aren't many left before the big day.
"Quality running"......not so sure about that, I'm not at all confident this year - based on my training to date, it's probably going to be a crash and burn again.
I guess I need to be running 6:10 splits x 26........
FL - Maybe you need to take it a bit easier for a few days, and allow your body to recover a bit and then get back to quality training. I dont know how you keep going with the same intensity....
FF, I know what your saying mate and think you may be right. But we do have this stupid streak and think we are invincible! Will see how I feel after work and take it from there.
Hows you lads doing out there? The mileage is starting to catch up with me now. Feeling very tired lately. Cold seems to be getting better. Still full of snot though!
Still fetching up the snot myself..........been drinking loads of orange juice, and taking vitamin C every day.
I'm not surprised you're knackered, you're pushing out the miles and at a tidy pace.....it wouldn't harm you to pull back a bit for a while but I know you won't listen.
Its true, fl does listen, but does he put it into practice ha ha
This may sound bizarre, but if you don't feel like 22 Sat your all welcome 2 join me on my 17? Some of it at threshold pace... Might be good since now is the time for sssssppppeeeeeeeed?
will stick to the planned 22 and start putting more speed into it when the mileage drops off next week. Your more than welcome to join us for an easy 22. This is monster miles month.
FL - Erh ok......I'm running like a total a**e at the moment though, so it is highly likely I'll do my usual implode at mile 18-20. What time, where and who?
Had a nice but warm 21 miler along the coast out to Three Cliffs, through to Parkmill and back. It was great to get shouted some encouragement going through Mumbles by the crowd watching the Duathlon, they told me I was nearly there, not far to go......I'd only done 1 mile, still had 20 to go.
Don't think its quite my last long run, I've got one pencilled in for next weekend........
FL - Well done on getting the 22.5 done......is that your last long run?
I did 8 this morning in 51mins......slow first and last mile, the rest were reasonable pace. Need to build some speed into training during these last few weeks, if my body will let me! I'm taking so many pills at the moment I rattle.....
