Wind here is a killer blowing a gale again.... Kaz I started swimming so I could do a Tri, I'm crap at swimming but it helps stretch you out a bit and always seem to run better after. Fiona great treadmill session.
Think this week is going to be a right off. Todays scheduled 10 miles not happening......... can barely make it up the stairs let alone run.............. All I want to do is sleeeeeeeeeeeeep!!
In my lot younger days I used to love swimming, going everynight and swimming 80lengths now you won't get me near the swimming pool. Used to do lots of cycling too at that same time.......Much prefer trying to run!!!
Tonight I met up with the running group in Notts. A 1 mile jog to the start. They were doing just 5 miles tonight so I started of a decent pace for me as I felt good. Ran with pal and felt good.
Splits for completed miles were 7:49 7:37 7:39 7:28 7:12 ...then sub 7 for the last bit.
Thats an average of 7:32 which is very good for me, in fact i have only ran a litte faster than that once before - in my 10K PB ( 7:27 average ). Was not planned as I had planned Tempo pace for tonight - but felt good. Very happy. Hopefully the 7lb recent weight loss helped.
Kaz- you know what I'm going to say! Get well soon
AGF- well done on the weight loss- but slow down the tempo run- cos too fast and it won't impact on your LT threshold so much.
Feeling very smug- work got in the way and I had to cut tonight's run to 12m @ a nice and easy 8.25 av. Quite mild (5c) when I got out at 7pm, bit of a windchill, but nothing much and dry with a huge moon- quite enjoyable and glutes/legs feeling better. However, as I'm typing this golf-ball size hailstones are threatening to break our windows- PHEW, lucky escape!
15 miles at 5:15am yesterday in sleet and snow, lots of snow here yesterday 2x 7 mile runs today on the treadmill. Tomorrow swim and easy run Kaz hope your feeling better Gobi nice miles mate Jason solid running I take it you don't swim lol Spoons I'm with you swimming helps.
Definately. I was speaking to a customer yesterday & there was a really bad crackle on the line but it turned out it was hail stones on the guy's conservatory roof!
Jason the ammount of miles could change next year as our top brass want to make big changes to our system of work which means a lot less scope for training....... Well done with your training mate.
Jason/NP- Don't you guys do high enough mileage already??
Not feeling much better, still really lethargic and really annoyed about not being able to run.......bear with a sore head!!! Trying to console myself with its better to get fully recovered now than suffer a relapse when in full swing marathon training, but its doing little to make me feel better!
Lots of miles being run, no more snow here (yet) although it is very cold. Only did 4.5m of my run last night, not feeling great so saving energy for the weekend.
Just had 3 Quality Street, if I can keep it below 20 it'll be less than every other day this week! Work Christmas night out tonight, will be driving but if a late night may leave the longer run til Sunday.

Best wishes to chickadee.
kaz - REST!!! If on antibiotics you should be taking it easy for a few days at least.
Did a treadmill run tonight, just horrid weather. 6 lots of 1k at 4 minutes each with 200m recoveries, 7 miles in total.

Fiona great treadmill session.
Fiona, nice speed. Do you think that your 6 weeks of slow running has helped in any way???
Another 11.6 miles this morning. Seems I either do speedwork or run 10-12 miles :¬)
:¬)
Can't go to bed.......... got to go to work............ no sick days allowed!!
Body Balance soon.
Kaz,
Make sure you get some rest, you'll get better quicker.

Well done on everyone's training.
NP- good running- you're sure cranking out the miles at the moment
8.11m in sleet and rain for me tonight- which takes me past my total mileage for last year
Jason the ammount of miles could change next year as our top brass want to make big changes to our system of work which means a lot less scope for training....... Well done with your training mate.
NP- I'm hoping to try a high mileage approach next year, but I think work will get in the way too- at least until the summer
I've put on 2lb lately which had me annoyed- but have just realised that i don't recognise my upper thighs anymore- in a good way
NP- brilliant mileage in that weather.
Jason/NP- Don't you guys do high enough mileage already??

Hope you feel better soon kaz.

Nothing special, just a couple of runs - a 14 and a 10 maybe?
F
5km (ish) race for me last night in the dark. Great fun. 20.xx (not sure yet) but the distance isn't exact so doesn't really matter
Gobi,
Well done.
Fiona,
Good luck.
EDIT (X post with Mr Spoons - Well done)
