I would blame it on the fact I've been doing way more strength training than anything else, and the flab loss may not have caught up with the muscle gain. I'm also just about due for TOTM, which always throws things out of of kilter.
But I'm still disappointed - I've been eating so much better over the last fortnight.
I've been going to circuit training a lot recently, or making my own circuits up in the gym when I can't go to classes, as a break from non-stop running after my disappointing VLM DNS due to injury (despite months of successful training...).
Went to a new circuits class last Thursday, feeling very apprehensive having talked to some other gym-goers beforehand, who'd warned me it was way harder than the Saturday class, that I'd be aching for days afterwards etc.
Anyway, the sight of my backside in the mirror during the jog warmup was not remotely pleasing, to say the least. But my management of the class itself was fab - there were no automatic breaks, just straight on to the next activity, take a break when you need it, and while most of the rest of the class were having frequent rests I felt strong enough to keep going, only briefly stopping to sip a bit of drink.
A couple of girls - independently of each other - commented to me: "blimey, you must do this all the time - you make it look so easy!"
A good, hard effort, but the fact I didn't flag at all in a class I might really have struggled with last year is good confirmation that my fitness is good, even if my waistline and arse size aren't.

Hmmm, wibbly wobbly scales at home show not a great deal of difference, but (clothes on) scales at swimming pool still shows a downward trend. May have to get the tape measure out instead. Work trousers are pleasingly baggy though (NSV).

Cheers Frodo, am only unhappy with the amount of loss considering the effort put in.
There has been a marked increase in calories burnt during past 2 weeks compared to prev 2 weeks, diet has remaind the same, ergo - greater loss expected.
If I had the answer to that, I wouldn't be trying to lose a stone myself - I cycle or run to and from work every day, I am going to a circuits class two or three times a week and still I am a podgy so-and-so It's just not easy, is it? *shrugs*

Smunkee - what are we doing here starting a new June thread? Would rankings be best i.e. we all compete against each other? Teams not altogether this month i.e. results not in some for the first weighings.. I think it does really help having a thread.. either rankings or try to lose a certain amount enmass per month?
4lbs total loss for me, not too bad in view of the fact I haven't exercised recently. I'd be up for continuing through June, I have another half a stone to lose...
My May loss totalled 1lb, but I'm hoping that now my hubby's also decided he's keen to lose weight it isn't going to be quite so difficult at home with managing to eat healthily...

I have been good all week, all workouts have been completed although I didn't get as far as I would have liked to have done on the bike last night It's my own fault though, slacked off in the run up to Mr TST starting his medication and now I am paying the price for it as the saddle was killing me after about 10 miles Managed to do 16 in the end, but have realised that I seriously need to get out there and put some time in on that saddle so I get used to it again, so we will take the bike in the van to swimming after work and I will cycle back
My NSV this week is that I now haven't had a drink for 10 days, which included a week off and a weekend and those are when we would normally go out Oddly I did dream I had a pint of cider last night and then felt terrible in my dream that I had drunk it!!
NSV - I have managed to run twice already so far this week.
Only 4 mins run/1 min walk with a total of 16 mins of actual running each time, but it's progress.
For some reason since doing all my injury rehab exercises (including lots of calf raises and foot/ankle strengthening stuff) my feet no longer want to do heelstrikes. Slightly disconcerting is the fact I'm still not quite used to midfoot/forefoot landing but the calves seem to be holding up...

I'm certainly up for continuing throughout June.
My May loss totalled 1lb, but I'm hoping that now my hubby's also decided he's keen to lose weight it isn't going to be quite so difficult at home with managing to eat healthily...
Wow, some good lossses there! I too was wondering about what we would do in June. It took quite a long time to set this up so it seems like a lot of extra work to redo all the teams and stuff for June. How about we keep the thread as it is for June and toss some ideas about for what people would like to do from July, then we could start getting it organised ready for the 1 July?
I have been good all week, all workouts have been completed although I didn't get as far as I would have liked to have done on the bike last night It's my own fault though, slacked off in the run up to Mr TST starting his medication and now I am paying the price for it as the saddle was killing me after about 10 miles Managed to do 16 in the end, but have realised that I seriously need to get out there and put some time in on that saddle so I get used to it again, so we will take the bike in the van to swimming after work and I will cycle back
My NSV this week is that I now haven't had a drink for 10 days, which included a week off and a weekend and those are when we would normally go out Oddly I did dream I had a pint of cider last night and then felt terrible in my dream that I had drunk it!!

Oh dear, not what I hoped for, I blame Tesco for the BOGOF on Pringles.
Still gotanother 30 odd lbs to go.
Willing to continue for another month, promise to try harder, especially has have cycling holiday at end of month.
NSV - I have managed to run twice already so far this week.
Only 4 mins run/1 min walk with a total of 16 mins of actual running each time, but it's progress.
For some reason since doing all my injury rehab exercises (including lots of calf raises and foot/ankle strengthening stuff) my feet no longer want to do heelstrikes. Slightly disconcerting is the fact I'm still not quite used to midfoot/forefoot landing but the calves seem to be holding up...
