I recently bought gels from Cheshire Oaks but seriously, I went in there and nearly left with a Scott bike. I have only ridden once in 10 years and that was in Center Parcs so doesn't really count. Not quite ready to be a Pirate yet.
is mum to my daughter's friend and it's all her fault I'm here!!! She ran Chester as her one and only marathon last year and recommended it to me ... thanks Vicky! Where is she this year ... running a half on Sunday in Swindon so conveniently can't join me!
So was her phoo super-imposed afterwards ... the number is crossed out which usually means you've been given your T-shirt/goody bag.
Others Claire Coney - 2652 (Stroke Assoc vest and yellow tutu target sub 4:45), Ruth Thomas10 - 2590, Daeve - 183, NIX DOWN - 1895, mattl - 606, SLAW (delighted to go sub 4.30 but unlikely!)
I am getting paranoid I am getting a cold. I am shattered this evening and everyone seems to have one in Cheshire. A Mum from school was talking to me before and she said "Oh I am full of cold". I nearly ran in front of the Runcorn Bus to get out of her way. Is everyone else the same?
Hi all, I seem to have just about shifted my cold which appeared last Sunday thanks to lots and lots of vit C + Zinc (did the job a treat!). Work duties have found me in Brighton today, of all places, meaning two nights of hotel food and the temptation of a few beers!! and leaving me with a big drive back up north Friday. I've then got to go to Glasgow next Wednesday so hopefully I won't feel too bad.
Still feeling relativly calm but no doubt will get more nervous nearer the time, and the more posts I read on here. Still hoping for 4:15 and anything better will be a bonus. Hopefully I can beat the 4:30 I did at Manchester. Go slow and run slower and I should still be in the game come 20miles, so if anyone sees me running 8:30 m/miles at the start please have a word with me!!
Thanks everyone, HeOw my kids are 6 and 4, I took redundancy a couple of years ago and now they are both at school time to start paid work again. The big problem is I can't have a drink tonight to celebrate!!
Happy to say my cold is getting better ... Fingers crossed
Claire & Jason d. Timings? Loch Ness 2011 - 3.41. Paris 2012 - 3.49. (but had an accident late autumn that hindered by spring training). I have been training for 8.00 min miles but wether I can keep it going for 26.2? So, 3.30 is my target time!

Scott- sorry to disagree with HeOw- but I wouldn't get a massage this close to the race....
if you're going for a massage this close make sure very light - any deep muscle stuff could really screw things up for you.

Happy to say my cold is getting better ... Fingers crossed

Also, the more I taper, the more tired I seem to feel! Strange.
