Good effort BBT.
Partner In Crime can't run tomorrow, so it'll just be me and my new choonz on the Shuffle.
However, am wondering, if it's not too windy, whether I might cycle instead of running since I've not been out on the bike for soooo long.
Bike might be a good idea if the weather is good, you never know when itsgoing to be nice again!!
Brick is a fine idea, gas. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
No bike this morning. V windy here, and not in the fettle for a 20 mile fight to stay upright. Went for a run, which was, erm
Wind at my back to start was good, but not so helpful on the homeward half of the loop! 10k took me 1:03 .
Best tip for dealing with a stitch, anyone?
On the plus side, have discovered what will be my training anthem - Desmond Dekker "You Can Get It If You Really Want"
NR at least you braved the elements and got out there
I don't get stitches often and I just HTFU and run through it but I have also spoken to other runners/friends in the past and they do one of the following
Putting your hand over the place where your stitch is and pushing firmly and bending your torso in the direction of the stitch.
By changing your breathing so that if the stitch is on the right hand side, breath out sharply when your left foot strikes the ground. If the stitch is on the left hand side, breath out sharply when your right foot strikes the ground.
HTFU? But I'm a laydee, don't y'know
Just had a look at the Garmin stats. Pace with wind behind 8.45m/m, into wind 12.58.
Sounds challenging, IY. Good effort.
WOOO HOOOO! Espresso machine back from repair . Off to get wired.
Blog update if any actually reads that rag haha
Nurse - thats some might fine rain you guys have up there!!! Arm bands on the front forks did the trick of keeping big afloat!
did you take your RD?
IY - I can't find the blog link, can u post again mate, sorry i'm useless (as Raf will testify)
Oooh yes, Raf, we can do rain! So how was it?
IY, liking the blog
IY, just read your post from Nov 30th 2010 and I love the inspirational quotes.
Run planned for this afternoon. Off to search the web for Saucony wellies
NR - it was fantastic thanks! It was my first big ride - never done much over 50 mile before and then mainly on the flat, so was pleased to cope with the step up in distance and feel l could have run afterwards (I didn't obviously - we had lunch and got pissed!) But fantastic views, rain could have been worse, almost cycled to the snow line - about 30m short!
Race was well organised (apart from the start - although with heavy rain forecast late morning I think many with a late start time came early to avoid bad weather). But def do it again!
Cycling in the snow in the middle of May. I love Scotland. Well done you.
Run done. Just a wee one today. Was going to be 3 miles, but once I was out there I decided to do a bit of the route twice and make it 4 miles.
Tri suit no. 2 has arrived...................................and is a perfect fit
I, on the other hand, am a perfect twit. Obviously didn't read the product info properly, because it has no padding. None. Not even a waffer theen nod in the direction of a pad. Doesn't even bear thinking about .
Have just ordered another one. Third time lucky.
Good luck with the interview.
You've been a busy boy. Good effort
Good luck with the interview GT.
Back from the pool. No drills today, just a very steady swim up and down. Did a mile in 45 mins.
Scott Plasma Fastsuit.
And at £23, even perfecter
Am going to swim in it tomorrow and see how it feels.
Off out for a jog with the dog.
Good work in the water. I am having to learn not to pay attention to work rate and focus on technique. It's hard when I'm so used to the "x lengths in x minutes" mindset
Do you want a photo?
i couldn't possibly answer that question! I have looked up tri suit online, looks good, what colour did you get? £23 is a bargain!!!!
my running buddies are suggesting that I taper now, i.e. stop training... apparently i might need some energy for next week?
