I tri. There was recently a small study reported in the Runners World mag that had people running the day after / mid week and the weekend after a Marathon, and from what I remember they basically said it seemed overall you might as well leave it until the next weekend go for a walk if you want, but you have more chance of causing an injury (which i think i did the week after my ultra) then just chilling out. So their bottom line was wait until a week after and then have a gentle jog. So wait till sunday and go out for a gente run seems a reasonable way to go. IMHO

I hope everyone has now recovered.
I've only just started to walk without any stiffness or muscle tightness.
I was thinking how much more rest should I have before running again?
I'm just about there. Still a bit sore in the thighs but everything else seems ok.
Heading out for a slow, careful 5 miler this evening to see how it goes.
