Think 3.45 realistic but could be anywhere between 3.30 And 4.00. Long runs have been 9 to 10 min miles which is what the pace calculator said to do, but I'm very comfy running 8.5 min miles and spent quite a bit of my last long run between 8 and 8.5. however i can be guilty of going off too fast hence why I bought a garmin as I have blown up in races before.
Found my 22 miler in 3 hr 20 very manageable 3 weeks ago
maybe plan a 3.45, plan b 3.55 and plan c finish
Thanks booktrunk I will try and keep my mind in check
Nahhh, but know some that are and just started chatting on here, my next mara is two weeks away, this group seems chatty and I am really thinking about doing it next year

Me as well lived in Scotland 4 years now this a a big ambition of mine
Yes im in the car and not looking forward to getting oUt! Will enter next year I think. Was a great scenic race. Did u see my official time on the results? I can't get it to work
Did it in 4.25.07 which I'm really quite happy with. Some of those hills were horrendous and I thought I d done plenty of hill training! I ended up having to walk up the last hill which I was annoyed about but at least I finished! It band was sore on and off throughout but made it to the finish line without it getting sore enough to stop me. It's totally seized up now though. Can hardly walk!
What a great day My first Marathon. Chip time 03:25:51 which was much quicker than I expected.
Thanks to everyone was was there and all the volunteers. I was well impressed with how organised it was, with more than enough water and gel stations.
My legs are so so stiff now and walking funny.
Congrats to everyone, one hell of an achievement.
Interestingly, the physio who gave the sports massage at the end knew her stuff. She could tell I'm carrying an injury just by feel and she also said that I have one calf muscle bigger than the other! Well I never knew that! I told her the difference is probably from a lot of cycling, one leg pushing harder than the other?
Well done all. I had a good day too, 4:11:15 and finished up-right so very happy with that. I was right that I hadn't done enough training for the hills so just settled into a sensible rhythm and went with that.
Fantastic weather and scenery, and the support and marshalls were great
Yep I agree, check out the course profile and make sure you're happy with it. I only remembered the hill at 5 miles and the one at 18 miles from last year, but there were plenty of other (gentler?) hills in there. And there was only one hill that I saw and thought "there's no way I'm running up that"
Apart from that, the course is gorgeous and well worth having a go.

any ideas for a similar next marathon anyone? Was thinking Windermere. Any good?
Very well done everyone. Hope your sore bits aren't too sore
I'm intending to do this next year so I'd be interested to hear what you all thought of the course.
What I thought of the course... Not flat.
When you are training for next years, it'll be worth training running up a slope.
