If this was an attempt at a world record then surely the decision for the record to succeed or fail will be in the hands of Guinness world records adjudication.
Did this take place and what were their findings?
or it could be that as a money making racket it was quite successful (£18k minimum) with no road closures, goodie bags, drink stations etc. So why not have another go next year?
RM -- Can we be sure it generated £18K minimum? At some point places became free lets not forget (would be interesting to know what the people who paid feel about that)... Anyway, £18K in itself is not a massive amount of money... There clearly would have been some costs involved and no reason why the organiser(s) should work for nothing... I guess we'll have more of an idea when the accounts are submitted to Company's House
XX1 - Think about it, many people paid for places in 2013 and were not able to keep the date for a year later so it's possibly more than £18k
