Anyone in need of a runner. Whilst I promised Mrs Stanners no IM next year, she has given me the OK to be a runner for a team...if anyone still needs one. Heads up though, wont be fast. Around 3:30 if that helps
haha.3:30.won't be fast...........thats about twice as fast as most of us on here
i have decided that i am going to find a 12 week plan for this one next year.......i have discovered that i get bored if i try and follow one for more than 12 weeks.so will the early months do what i want when i want and then more structure in the final 12 weeks........which means after 9the september i won't need to swim till next april
Flat footed, I could be tempted but need to check with Happychap and Marmite Lady to see if they have a vacancy on one of their relay teams. Plus I am not fast, hence the name Steady.
30 weeks is too long really - the last 10 are the most important, with the previous 20 weeks just getting you fit enough to train at a good level, (ie knock out weekly big rides / runs) in those last 10 weeks.
If you can do enough general stuff to get fit enough, then a shorter structure is good
I was planning to but now with possible money restraints due to my other half being made redundant end of Dec it looks like it is going to be a UK based event. Also having doubts about racing for the 1st time in the heat
Double there is a large camp site right next to the event. Unless you want to rock up with a caravan or something else that needs a powerpoint you won't even need to book in advance. Will normally be a pirate corner singing camp fire songs as well.
Sorry was reading to quick. Double try travellodge there is one nearby camping might be a lot easier through you basically roll out of bed straight into T1
Premier inn, London road, for a start it is far enooug from city centre you can get a good nights sleep and is only a five min drive to HPP. Good food as well.

Hard to commit when we don't know the date yet. Got lots going on next July already.
But I will be supporting or in a relay. No way am I doing the whole thing
Thought it was going to be the 27th of July Caz
If it is I will be on holiday
I think the 27th was the date almost confirmed ...
Cancel the holiday Chris
You might be right but I've not seen that officially yet. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place
I am looking at doing some part of a relay but probably not the bike bit.
Might you fancy a bit of running then Steady?
Melds I am tempted

If it were me it would be between Outlaw and IMWales then.
Can anyone recommend accommodation near the race start? I don't want camp and am thinking ahead to make sure I get somewhere close...
Thanks!
