My BF got in this year, after only entering because I wanted to run. I didn't get in. Was hoping to aim for a GFA in Edinburgh in May but injury has meant that I'll be trying the ballot again.
I entered last years ballot at 7am and got straight through and got a place and ran last week..... yeah!!! a week after Paris.... I ran London in 2009 and have been trying ever since but didn't succeed, hence entering Paris (first come, first served) so it was a shock when I got into London after I'd entered for Paris. Paris is far nicer to run , but London is mega !! thanks to all who cheered this old git on, didn't know so many people knew me, when you realise you ain't gonna win and you can walk a little (sorry, but I am 63) it takes the pressure off and you can really enjoy a fantastic day, probably the best days I've had after the birth of my kids and grandkids and my second divorce! ps.. I'm still going to try when I get home from work at midnight tho' must run.
I am curious to know - those of you who have been previously successful in ballot, did you elect to pay the fee regardless of whether you are successful?
I would love to be able to train and be good for age TimR however, as someone who works full time 4-5 days a week with a family. I have a child who I support with championship swimming and a husband who has his interests so time is of the essence and that is not to mention the fact that I suffer back problems and there is no way I will ever get a good for age in my current state of health! I love to run and will run as much as I can until I can no more! I was unable to run for 4 months last year and lost muscle mass that I am still trying to bulk up again! I did however, manage to ride coast to coast with my injury. Sorry but I do get irate with people telling me I should train to be faster! Running is about running and I run regularly but at around 9-10 min miling Rant over!
I ran it in 2013 was an amazing experience didn't got to plan as picked injury up 2 week before . Wife thinks Im mental putting in again but it's such a buzz running the streets of London :0)

This was debated in October after ballot results. The outcome was some did some didn't which is what you would expect.

Thanks DT19, that's what I hoped! Good to see it doesn't have a baring
Ryan, if you offer to donate your entry fee in the first instance you go through to a second ballot, that's where I got my ballot place in 2013.
