Last week one of the sea swimmers wsa going in the sea for the first time this season. He said that his aim was to get in the water and 'touch a buoy or two'. We told him that that sort of behaviour would get him banned from the club.
B, you can have some of our rain. As for the tri training getting serious, you ain't seen nuffink yet. I'm at very early stages, ie learning how to swim, getting some distance on a bike, and remembering some endurance for the run. None of those factors cause me the slightest concern. What does worry me is whether my knee will hold up. Injury was one of the reasons I gave up 2 years ago.
Anyway, it looks like I've got a hotel night in Plymouth on Wednesday. One with a pool would be good!
It's possible but there would still be ample stock of cakes with marzipan or almonds in them or scones with anything in them like currants or weird stuff like that. Cheese is fine though.
They get very annoyed in Bakewell if you call them tarts, they're Bakewell Puddings. There's a shop which sends big 4 person sized ones by post. I've sent a few as a postcard alternative over the years. I don't like them myself.
*looks wide eyed, greedy and excited all at the same time* I'd be happy to see if there's any difference between Bakewell Puddings and Tarts, purely for research purposes of course .. .mmmmmmm
How big is a 4 person pudding? I'm thinking that it would depend on the person. If it was four times my size then it wouldn't be that big, but I would like to see one that was 4 times my weight
6x 800 m run at 5mins each with 2min recoveries. Plus warm up & cool down. Made sweeter by having to force myself out the door 'cos I was feeling lazy.
I'm in Bristol today, talking to people about trains. Later I drive down to Plymouth for a night away with.....(offers?) No Bakewell tarts there, all very nice people I'm told.
It sounds like another good session CP, I've got my run and swim kit in the boot!.

Sounds like tri training is getting serious Blisters
It's supposed to rain here today, but no sign as yet ...

So it's your fault I got soaked on the cycle home from work.
Ooh Blisters...my old haunt! Wednesday is Sports and Socs night...beware the legions of pissed students in fancy dress!
I need to go out with the dog. Lovely sunny evening but I'm flumped on the sofa and it may take a crow bar to unflump me
Been out on the bike again today. Really getting confident now and I might be beginning to enjoy it a little bit.
Cake shop was shut though How dare a cake shop be shut on Mondays!
Chucking it down here now, days like this I'm glad I don't have a dog! Up and out there Madge
Maybe all the cakes had been sold SC ... was I anywhere near it?
I don't think you were TP, at least not recently. Maybe they were restocking from when you were last down this way though

I hate almonds and marzipan but for some odd reason Bakewell tarts don't count
Mr Kipling has a lot to answer for

4 person Bakewell pudding = 1 solb Bakewell pudding
aww thanks, I will hang on for a little bit before I camp out by the letter box - 12 months is quite a long time to wait for pudding
Ha ha that's very cute TP but you don't need to do that. Bless you! x

Maybe we need to experiment. Scientifically.
I wondre what wine goes best with pudding. I know of a rather nice maderia.
Mmmm I was rather hoping for the 4 x body weight - it'd be a never ending Bakewell Pudding cos I'd gain weight as I was eating it mmmmmmmmm
Good point SOLB!
Port is nice with pudding
Port is also nice to sip on when making dinner. Especially at Christmas
I made corned beef hash with a fried egg on top for 50 last night, a recipe I like with asparagus in it. Perhaps I have asparagus syndrome.
I say for 50.... only 40 of them turned up so there was plenty!
I've been to Bakewell several times, and when the sun comes out I can assure you that there are LOADS of Bakewell tarts in the shops.
Sun is shining and I'm feeling good.
Great interval session last night.
