I shall be there too cheer and clap as required :-)

Hello lovely BB - thanks for updating me!

Hilly - good to see that you're doing this. I'll hope to see you as a speck in the distance for a couple of hundred yards

BB and I need to organise someone to look after our darling kids for the day. The problem is, anyone we've asked before won't do it again. But if they do...... where's that pub then?
  • Options
Yes we need to sort this out. Which pub are we going to before/during/after?. Zoom has promised me unlimited beer and a bag of crisps!.
  • Options
    HillyHilly ✭✭✭
Lol BB, your kids sound delightful:o)

So glad mine don't need minding anymore!

My hubby is driving me to this one. It'll be the first race he's watched me in since Cardiff marathon 2003, so will be quite nice. We're hoping to make a day out of it in Bath then so if there is a pub people are meeting up in after let me know so I can try and pop in to say hello:o)
  • Options
c'mon folks, let's get the priorities sorted - which pub are we meeting in after? I like the sound of unlimited beer!
    RD
  • Options
I think we should go for which pub is nearest....that real ale place sounded fab but if its a ten-fifteen minute walk I'm not going to make it.

Can't we gate crash the Bath Rugby Club house...they'll have a nice cheap bar!
  • Options
The closest pub I can think of would be The Boater which is on the left hand side if you kept going after the finish line for a couple of hundred yards (just after Laura place). There's a terrace by the river which would be good if it's a nice day.

BB - I'm not sure it's quite correct to describe me as your wife. Sounds like another one of your fantasies to me
  • Options
sounds good to me....even I might be able to stagger that far!!
  • Options
Well, I've gone and done it now!

Having been involved in the 'organisation' last year, and having spent a long time on here afterwards as some of you may recall, I've just sent off the firm's Corporate Challenge entries today and have been persuaded to do it as part of our team.

Time won't be great as I am actually racing the day before (fell race in South Wales) and so I will just be looking t getting round but it will be good to see how it all goes this year - lets just hope for some better weather (well, it couldn't be any worse, could it?)
  • Options
Has anyone managed to find out the location of the showers yet? Don't fancy walking round bath stinking!!!!!
  • Options
Welcome aboard Boy Wonder - I can keep a secret if you don't mention anything. I think most of the peeps here missed out on 2004.

SUGGESTION: RW FORUMITES TO MEET UP OUTSIDE THE INFORMATION TENT BEFORE THE START. DON'T BE SHY.

Which Way Now - I shall take a flannel in a poly bag - there's water at the finish, and a quick wipe sorts out MY sweaty zones. Bring your own flannel, as I don't think that there are showers. Unless the Sports Centre are offering them?
  • Options
    HillyHilly ✭✭✭
It says no showers being offered this year.

    Hi BW

I am hoping for a bright sunny spring day next week - we deserve it after last year! Happy to meet at the info tent - I'll be the tall blonde wearing a dulwich park runners top....either vest (hopefully) or long sleeved if its cold...which it won't be obviously!

I've got about four friends also running of different abilities so there will be a little gaggle of us.

Alan p-About time you put your name down.Youve got to get me under 1:25,3 out of 4 halfs last year i was jinxed on 1:25.But if you run like you did at the Glos 10 im afraid you`ll be to quick for me(You were a star that day).If i can get the legs back to normal after the Glos 20 last sunday ive a good feeling on this one.

Stace-Hows that injury going?Been running through Stoke Gifford alot this week, that track down at Filton High will be ready soon.

    Rogerdodge-Hows your leg now?

    Alan P, makes an appearance!
Hey, did you run the Glos 20 or the Powerstation 30? Looks like LLL (triple L) will be hot on your case!! I ran the powerstation 30. What a killer! Made a picture in RW page 108! Number 483, top left side all in black.

Morning folks - this one is now in the balance, I'm afraid. Managed to pull a calf muscle on Tuesday and it is still quite painful. Hoping it will ease off enough to run next week - fingers crossed.

I'll still be along to support - It'll be the first time I'm in the bar before you, Jason :-)

Hope the calf gets better quickly RD.

I've never done this race before - do you need to get there really early for car parking, or is it generally not too bad?

    LLL...
Had to ease off this week, but by Wednesday felt good enough for me to go to Circuits.
Ran 7 miles this morning 59:13 so fitness is comming back. There was a slight twinge but seems to be ok Now.
    R.D..
Really sorry to hear that your calf is not improving. Can you get a deep muscle massage and ice it, leaving out all running this week and see ho wit goes for Sunday?
    Norma...
Welcome on board this thread, Parking in Bath is not good at the best of times so an early start might be the best idea.
    Have a good weekend all

LLL: it was a bad timing to run the 20 so hard. I will be running hard but you should try and stay longer you are well in for 1:24

Thanks BB/Stace - I'll have to make do with cross fingers, I sure can cross my legs! Pain is at the back of the knee - where the calf muscle anchors to the bone. I'm pretty certain I did it hopping off the road onto the verge to avoid an oncoming tractor - the verge was pretty rutted - I should have just stopped to let him by - bugger'it :-( Have to see how it goes.
