Well done on getting back to the running Maddyy. Good news about the ribs.
I'm afraid I did slack a bit yesterday and not do my run. I was so tired though, in the afternoon. I had a little sleep hoping I'd feel more lively, but then I actually felt worse. I decided that it would be better not to push myself and instead feel fresh for 12 miles today. I didn't go to the pub quiz and had an early night, so it wasn't just an excuse.
So been pottering in the house, have had my porridge and am just letting if go down a bit before I head off.
It was very wet here, but it has just stopped raining now...
Cycling training proper starts Monday
Fitn is fit and training for Ironman Nice, but it is all snow covered out there and has been since October, so all her training happens indoors, which is a tad boring. You have to admire that woman!
Hope phys got her miles in this morning, 8 miles planned for me this afternoon. Mrs a is away in deepest darkest phys country for the weekend so I am a GOL. Nice....
12 miles done. V hard work, mostly in the rain. Am now freezing so off to warm up in the bath. Will post more when I can feel my fingers and toes again!
Aaah thats better. That banana bread is very good post run fodder!
I went over to Harewood again for the run and there are always some muddy bits in the route, where it heads over the fields, but they've been doing some work at the reservoir so big tractor wheels have been churning it up, and with the recent downpours it was a bit of a nightmare. Even the other bits of the route, on trail where its not normally too bad seemed to have layers of wet leaves that just sucked the energy out of the legs. I was still enjoying myself for most of it but the last 3 miles were really hard work. Especially since my sophisticated piece of string on a map technique for predicting rough distance fell down and I got back to the car at 11.2 miles. I had to make myself run past the car and along the road for .4 of a mile then head back. At least the heading back was slightly downhill!
Anyway its done. And on a grotty, wet, cold day. I've jumped 14 pages of the Fetch league!
Its nice to hear some news of Fitn. Another Ironman? Kev - who you kindly supported for me Paul - is doing another one too. They seem to be more addictive than marathons! A good reason to steer well clear.
Does this mean you brand new trainers are muddy Phys
Lots of applications out and still going out but no interviews out of them - this is the third interview or good prospect for an interview that has been put on hold
Just filling in a part time maternity cover application - it fits with starting my own business I have to have at least apart time income to get it off the ground.
It is a job that I have done very similar work before so I fit the bill the problme with these sorts of jobs is they look at everything else and decide I am over qualified - hopefully as this is maternity cover they won't
Its a bit of a nightmare for anyone looking for a job at the moment Maddy. Just keep trying I guess.
Yes, my new trainers are VERY muddy! But they are the trail running ones, and I was able to keep running in all but the worst of the mud (the bits where my foot disappeared up to my ankle and I nearly lost my shoe!). Both my trainers have been christened now, and the white ones are still pristine white after the treadmill session.
Do you think I could get away with suing my bank for loss of earnings - after all everyone accepts they fucked the economy up in the first place
I just needed a sharper cut for the interview and the guy that did it last time, and very well it has to be said, is still a student so I would stilll have been able to get a Toni and Guy haircut for a tenner
ermm I will have a look basically you find him via the shop - they advertise Tuesday 9am as model time but in reality he can be flexible on which morning depending on what other work is coming in

Morning.
No rivers here! But it looks cold and windy.

Next weeks interview is cancelled - all new jobs are on hold - fed up but I wouldn't have been able to afford the desperately needed haircut anyway

Where is she living now?
Fitn is in the states somewhere

Good luck Maddy! Bummer about the cancelled one...
I have not had my hair cut since September 2007... I think I do need a haircut soon, but I don't want to waste the money on it...
Sounds like a great run Phys, well done for sticking it out in horrid weather... It is dry here and I am playing IT manager...

He is a trainee at Toni and Guy in Newport but he needs models to get his cutting practice in - he does take forever but it was a very good cut
