I've got up to run but don't have the energy or desire. Very tired and apathetic. I'll go to work early (by bike, so some exercise there) so I can leave early and maybe (just maybe) run tonight before I have company for the evening.

Scheduled rest day, so I can post that now!
Bryn, you up early studying or something? Students these days, I just don't know!
((Mava)) I'm not at all sure it's a schedule that you need. Everything you write on here shows a real keenness to get out, train. You feel washed out and apathetic, and ascribe it to laziness, or some lack of discipline. I doubt it.
I think I understand some part. All those years when friends, relations and the medical community were inclined to think I was lazy, malingering, hysterical or all of the above, nobody was more inclined to judge me harshly than myself. It didn't help. If I have learned anything from those years, it is to trust my own senses: if I feel washed out and tired, then I am washed out and tired, and while I probably can beat myself into a short period of activity, the overall effect will be undoubtedly a bad one.
You've had rather a basinful of frustration and disappointment over the last few months. The discrepancy between the training you want to do and your energy levels tends to lead to more frustration. My experience is that such frustration only exacerbates existing illness/low energy problems. What are your plans for the spring? Any chance you can take a step back, regroup and build back up again?
so ...

Pammie: if you'd like a spring/early summer 'thon, what about Copenhagen in late May? You'll be well looked after; the list so far includes RichK, Trinity, Adverse Camber, Steady, CR, me and sundry others. The forumites at CPH always get together the day before and again after the race and it's a brilliant event now.

I've got Wokingham Half and Reading Half booked and I'm looking at either Kingston 16 or Paddock Wood for early April. Apart from that I haven't got plans except maybe to try to bring my 10k pb down a little.
But I am actually quite enjoying having a bit of a life again, rather than focusing just on training. My holiday was just what I needed and I have interesting developments occuring in both personal life and work life so I'm not beating myself up too much!
Snaps, good to hear you a bit more positive. I'll have a look at Rich's site.
