Yes, worth thinking about, Artemis. To be honest, using a permanent pen might be better, or you can get iron on letters - just make sure they're BIG! Saw one bloke at the end whose white shirt was literally red due to blood from his nipples. Said he'd vaselined too, but it was a very nasty sight. More to do with a new shirt than how his name had been put on I think, but still, definitely worth playing safe!
That is a real shame if some have dropped out already. I guess on Thursday they'll start at the beginning with all 13 raring to go, and 6 months training, races etc will be condensed into the 8 programmes before FLM.
It would be nice to get some of them on here so we can find out what really happens, and not just the edited highlights that we will be shown. Wouldnt like a camera following me round some of my training runs! They certainly wouldnt have been able to show this weeks show at 7pm the way I was cursing that awful wind.
You'll always get people having to drop out from the training due to injury.
Once they start though - theres hardly anyone retiring.
It'll be my 5th FLM this year - last year was the first that i didn't have my name on my top - and I swear i heard my name shouted just as many times as in the past. It's a wall of noise !
I suppose if you're really keen to watch it you could go out running later? But yes, sod's law they put it on at a time when many people will be out running after work etc!
Glad I'm not the only one who's a bit challenged when it comes to computers!
It's basically some video clips at various points on the course of a bloke who must have taken his mobile with him! Alternatively you could look at the thread on this site. Think it was called "Runners eye view" and is on about the 6th page of this section at the moment. Owner is marcymarc.
That's great. Found the thread. I shall settle myself down for a nice flm treat this eve! lol I will send them to my friend doing the flm too, she needs all the encouragement/inspiration she can get as she has had the flu for the last fortnight and it's getting her down. Thanks again! :-)
I still haven't seen any trailers for "Run for Glory". What time have they been showing them? I even tried deliberately switched the TV on between programmes!!!
Just checked the listings on bbc1 site, and its still there for 7pm tomorrow, if thats anything to go by. It seems very under-advertised, or maybe I'm not watching enough tv!
Does seem a bit strange. Funny too that they changed the time (was originally going to be 7:30) and name (was originally going to be "From start to finish". You'd have thought it will be a fairly popular show though. When you consider all the people who have run/would like to run/wish they could run a marathon (particularly FLM).
Did better than email the bbc! I rang them! lol Got through to a real person straight away who said prog is still on tomorrow night at 7. Im happy now!
It is a shame that apparently some have already dropped out. But I am sure they will still see the series through - even if just Gunnell and Cram end up running it instead!!

Picking up lots of tips today - thanks! I will get a marker pen for my friends top, or some of those fabric paints.
I took a look at the route for flm, seeing it, rather than imagining it, was rather daunting - but what a buzz to acheive it one way or the other. I
if anyone knows when it will be repeated, on BBC3 e.g. please let me know
thanks

Artemis,
This gives you a very small idea of what it's like from the runner's perspective:

I watched the link - great! Really enjoyed it. :-)
Think I will email the BBC and find out whats going on!
Maybe because of the reported injuries and ppl dropping out, they havent got enough to make a programme out of it now. hmmmm
Your job sounds ideal to me. Working from home and watching TV all day! Got any vacancies??
