"Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Dr Mike Stroud completed the fifth of their seven marathons for the week today, despite Dr Stroud showing the strain yesterday on their last leg in Singapore." October 2003
Psoas is a core muscle, you can feel the stretch straight up from quads through abdo past hip bone. In my case it had got quite short and was pulling on quads and kneecap, hence some gait probs last year. Stretching it took pressure off other bits and hey presto - legs worked.
Before I tell you my times can I just say that I only run for extra fitness, to help with kickboxing. So I don't get to run that often. Ok, so excuses made I can share my last 5K run time (RFL) was 31:51.
And yes, I may try and do a 10K this year, but I can't commit to that yet.
Someone just thanked me for the 'amusing' routine my colleague and I ran through today whilst attempting to achieve a commercially viable position with another organisation. I call it teamwork, but they saw it as a bit of an unfair contest.

I take it Hippo, that you know what his speiality is ..... I'll quiz him though before he examines me, as part of the getting the patients confidence routine
Redhead, the problem I have is that I have super-speed (well, I think so) over a short distance but the thought of anything longer than 5k just bores me to tears. Perhaps I am not meant to run that far...and probably shouldn't have joined this website...sob.
I think the problem lies in his name due to its inherent gender conflict leaving him perpetually confused as to whether he should be playing like a man or a hen.
I suggest he changes his name to Cockman in an attempt to reduce this uncertainty thus enabling him to concentrate on his tennis.
It is one of my little failings. I worried for quite some time about a feminist of my acquaitance called Chapman. I'm sure a name change would have made her a happier woman.
Are you thinking of doing the trentham 10. It has a killer hill early on btw.
Anyone in the ng9 area of nottingham who runs 3 to 6 miles on a regular basis avg around 9 min miles. been running about three years and done 2 robin hood halves in 2.20..Hit mid 50s and running out of impetus(wife does not run).should run at least 3 to 4 times a week but no one local to run with. regards
Hello meerkat_ 2 clubs within 6 miles went along last year several times.Tended to be a bit intense. I get home about 6.30 pm and prefer to run locally in week.

Hula, that's a good time. You might find that an increase in distance would help your stamina for your kick-boxing.
