JJ - Still alive and qwacking - although I don't think many people follow the formal design routes to get the data into 3NF. This particular dataset is a new emerging standard for motor vehicle manufacturers. My client needs me to extract the data to populate a CD which I have developed for him. Extracting data to printed/CD catalogues is my forté.
Sorry for the nerdy moment folks ... I will recover :-) RD
well done LL! Doesn't matter how many there were, you were 2nd and that's all that counts! I frequently tell myself that when I'm the only triathlete racing in my age group! Even at IMDE next year there's only 5 of us senior lady vets, and it's the European Champs! So even if I'm last of the gang I can say I was 5th in the Europeans! When I get downhearted John always tells me to perk up because I'm better than all those others who laze in bed on the weekend and spend most of the rest in front of the TV!
I agree, Ironwolf:-) (I am also keeping quiet about the ladies in older age categories who beat me today!) My time was 25.16. I think I'm going to struggle to break 50 minutes for 10K in two days time!!!!
I hate race photos, in fact photos in general, until I see what the camera saw I can pretend I don't really look that bad. But the lens doesn't lie - unfortunately! In the most recent photos I've seen of myself, I distinctly resemble my mother. Which would be o.k. if it wasn't that Mum was overweight most of her life!
I'm very concerned about meerkat, she's been absent a long time. I sent her an email but it was rejected. I do miss her, and helegant too, she's also been gone quite a long while although I do understand of course that having a new husband her priorities have changed. Does ANYONE have news of them? I'd so like to wish both of them everything good for 2006.
If I don't see meerkat on NYD I'll send her a text on your behalf, Ironwolf. I don't have any way of contacting helegant I'm afraid. Maybe josie Jump or Bear would know?
Well done LL. If you'd worn your swimming costume you'd have cracked 25 I'm sure:-) BTW why do you look pregnant? Is this what you've been seeing your doctor about? :-D
I so much envy you all doing that 10 k. I'd happily ride on your roof rack.
Lady L - There is no ulterior motive, so I am NOT looking for a slap. However, speaking strictly as a racing strategist, I must point out that if you wore less clothes, you would have been faster. Next time, eh? Congratulations on your placement and time!
IW - I too miss Meer and Helen, but I know life gets in the way sometimes. If anyone sees Meer, give her a hug for me. What the hey! Give Helen and her daughters hugs also. I'm sure that John means well, but he does not know some of us, who laze in bed or in front of the TV, very well. He is correct that you finish ahead of us.
RD - I bet LL will be racing her 10k. I see sub-fifty, as she will be racing flat out then.
Happy New Year to each and every one of you!! As in races, I will be an also ran!
Happy New Year to you too Jim, and all your family! We hope to run the New Year's Eve 10km tomorrow but there's ice rain forecast, so we may just have to stay home instead and live to fight another day.
JJ - since you ask: 3rd normal form is under serious threat from the recent tendency of people to store chunks of blasted XML in their relational databases, in contravention of 3NF (and indeed 1NF).
