Thanks for the advice re alternatives to gels. If we pre entered at the Expo does that mean we are entered and we dont have to do anything else? Also does anyone know if it matters if the date of birth was entered incorrectly?
Anyone knows what happens with our expected finsih times and t shirt size etc? These things are on the form if you enter now but we were not asked when we early entered on Friday?! Confused.Com!!
Tillstar - I was told at the Expo that I'd receive an e-mail in due course which would direct me to my application to add finishing time etc. They wanted to keep the Expo registration as short and simple as possible.
What a fantastic day out, the crowds were amazing at times. I remember hitting the wall of people just around 13 miles near the pier, that was a goose bumps experience.
I wrote C'MON TOM on my charity vest and so many people were shouting it, it was a fun day interacting with the crowds and I made sure I tried to acknowledge each person who supported me.
Tempted to come back and better my 5:36 but I am happy with the great memories I have. I need to change my running style if I am ever going to run long term as I am 'bio-mechanically inefficient'.
When you are slow like me, the crowds and participants thin out a bit and it was hard at times. The strangest bit was running along the promenade from 23 miles, among people going about their everyday lives in the beach huts and cafes. That was surreal.
The grandstand finish was awesome and the sun had been out for a while by then so happy days all round.
Just booked it. Anyone else feel nervous already?! This is my first. Looking forward to training! Hoping the step up from half to full won't be too painful...
Has anyone heard from MarkD and Curly since the race - they were both doing AMAZINGLY in their training and pre marathon races so would love to hear how they got on. Maybe they're still celebrating!
And who is going to start the Brighton Marathon 2014 thread.....?!
Accoring to the App Mark D did it in 3.31.25 I dont know about Curly as I didnt know her number was only wondering this morning how she got on?! Come on TOBY3 I think you should be the one to start the new thread
Just signed up for Brighton again. But qualified for London / Boston. It is a real dilemma as I love the brighton marathon, but seems a shame to loose the chance to run London or Boston.
Paul - I found out yesterday that I got a GFA time for London (not quite sure how that happened!) so if I do get the place, I am going to run both. Brighton will be my 'A' race to go for a PB, whereas I will treat London as a 'fun run' and just do it for the experience etc.

It's definitely possible to do both.
