I'm not watching the video in public (I've just re-watched the Asics 2012 one and even that made me sniff) although I am somewhat perturbed by the Michelle Obama comment .

The First Lady!
I thought that was quite clever....

many thanks for your very kind comments and I apologise for the tears. For the record, it has the same effect on me too.
Part of the footage that I 'borrowed' was from a high speed video taken from one of the support vehicles. I've just watched it through to show Mrs O the route and spotted something familiar.
Here are a few of frame grabs. Not very good quality but worth a look.
Orbutt - this video does not rival yours but the following is one of the most exhilirating things I've ever seen - and it also covers the Parisian roads we have all run together:
Watched it now - wow. Thanks so much for doing that Orbutt, and absolutely agree with the sentiments at the end. Is the hay fever season starting, or do I have something in my eye?
I know that flag Orbutt. That day was very special for me. It has some lifetime memories. We've lived thousands of days and we forget so many of them, but that day lives on. It had everything.
Just finished myself a 22½km run - longest since last Oct. Loads left in the tank. Pleased with that.
Orbutt - thanks for doing such an amazing job on the video. I think I did the "o" with my arms over my head too early. Oh well I'll know what to do next time!
Can I just say sorry that I didn't make it to the Irish bar, it would have been good to meet the people behind the bizarre names......
Radar Sal's flag's about to make its second public appearance tomorrow, with a bit of a Doctor Moore twist. A minute's silence, please, for the good folk of Sunderland. Now, I just need to find a pole...

Orbutt - you legend!
Orbutt - you're a marvel. Thanks hugely for this, the work and the final sentiments.
Iain
I saw the link on the train but waited until I wasn't in public to watch it. ABSOLUTELY bawled my eyes out!!!
TD - your daughter's comment is spot on!!

Orbutt - You really are a legend. Fantastic video. It's difficult not to get emotional watching that.
I would like to apologise to Pauline MacFarlane for my ugly mug grimacing past the camera in her finishing clip!
Orbutt - Amazing once again. Thank you so much for all your hard work, time and dedication. And you made me blub too!

Eggy - I thought that was you...!
DLR - right over my head too, that was...
Jeez. I don't want to upset but there are very few mammals I can outsmart!
DLR - of maybe it's just that you think a bit differently to the rest of us...

Claude Lelouch's C-etait un rendez vous from 1976.
I recommend turning the sound up to 11 and watching in a dark room.
Fab.
OMFG... is that for real..???
I can't afford any more tears right now, so I'll save watching the video until I have some space.
But just in case I don't get a chance to say it properly, Orbutt, you are a treasure and thank you for all the hard work.
I'm likely going to fall off the radar for a little bit, folks.
I haven't forgotten about the accommodation guide - I will finish it as soon as I can, especially since we all have to choose between VLM and Paris.
Easy choice for me - Paris!
Fudging hell!
Whoops weird double post. Sorry

Maus - hope all's well. Get back on the radar soon, you hear.
Iain - That's an amazing film. You'd get a similar effect if you strapped a headcam to Jimbob and let him loose.
Sounds like a good day for you TD
Please, God, No! Don't strap a headcam to Jimbob and let him go....!
I've just found a youtube of an all-time fav' cartoon..* No, this has nothing to do with running...* Gary Larson fans, form an orderly queue...

Thanks Weedy. All's in the process of getting well. Will do as I can.
You know, life's funny. Sometimes it can throw total misery at you, at the same time as it throws you joy beyond your wildest dreams.
Just watched the Orbutt video again. It's amazing how quickly the words 'never again' can scamper off into the distance.
Orbutt - thanks for doing such an amazing job on the video. I think I did the "o" with my arms over my head too early. Oh well I'll know what to do next time!

Fantastic Orbutt, shiver down the spine, thank you very much
RTR - there's always next year
Maus - you ok? You know where we are.
Simon - I remember Tricky running along with me at 41k and asking me how I was doing. "I'm dying" was my reply.
Now I can't wait for my next one.
Can I just say sorry that I didn't make it to the Irish bar, it would have been good to meet the people behind the bizarre names......
Oui!
That's it! You can run but you can't hide, RTR...
Whoever you are, you're the Corcoran's goal, 2014 'Fess up. You are coming, eh?
I see my daughters in that frames Orbutt!
Maus - I hope your ok. x
