Cake that marathon sounds a bit hilly, will have to see how I do at Larmer before committing to any other walks. But bacon back at yours afters sounds good.
It's conpleatly flat.
Seriously did it last year and for years heard from folks at giants head that it was really hard it's not. There are hills on it but nothing big just playfully hilly.
mikasa,
I was in halfords earlier today and they do have turbo's on offer for £50 remember the price because throught blimey that's cheap they had everything you need for a no frills turbo.
Cake, I may go for a walk in the Surrey Hills, that way I will be prepared for anything.
My turbo is a basic Tacx model, has not been used this winter because I found a great spin class to go to.
Today I did a little walk and then a taster session at the gym of a new workout called ViPR which involved lifting and moving a large plastic tube around to loud music, a great laugh as some folks got their left and right muddled.
Thanks guys for all your advise. Bought a second hand cycleops jet fluid pro for £80 from ebay. We've tried it already and very happy. Can't wait to have it properly set up, it's in the hall at the moment in the way. Do others use turbo tires or not? Found a cheapy in Decathlon but the local one doesn't stock it atm.
I've been struggling with some exercise induced asthma atm so will try to get my cycle legs going before trying to cycle to work again.
Maths - I may have bought a new bike as well... which I'm waiting to arrive so no need for a spare wheel plus as my old one is hub gear it would be pretty expensive. I'm leaving my old bike on the turbo.
Finally got a turbo tyre from Decathlon, as long as bf remembers to bring it home tonight as you can definitely already see the ware on the tyre from just 4 sessions.
Well, I have to say the turboing doesn't set my world on fire. Atm doing the 7 day free trial on Zwift. My first 'proper' ride was half an hour and I was sweating buckets..
@Cake - I'm not doing a swimathon. I'm a breast stroke swimmer and may forever stay that way...
I've been busy today. I've entered my local tri again which is in June and booked a place in Cardiff half for October. I used to live in Cardiff and still have lots of friends over there so will be nice.
I went for my second run of the year Tuesday and though it was really steady walk/run, I felt good and motivated again. Need to check my local races I did last year and see if I'll be ready for them.
Lass I've done swimathon loads of times breast stroke just means you get your moneys worth. Not entered yet but will be doing a 5k money tight at the moment because booking races and had to fork out for a conpleatley new gear set and de-railer set . Lots of local ones so far but need to work out how to esquape dorset a little every now and then some as done that mmmuuaaarrrrr!!!! might be doing this if anyone round our way http://www.racenewforest.co.uk/middle-long-distance-triathlons/swashbuckler/ plus hopefully doing buxton half again this year just to get back to the homeland and see some proper hills. Waiting on them confirming the dates.
p.s. sorry for the typeing I have a cat called arthur sleeping on me at the moment.
swashbuckler has tidal water to contend with, but apart from that I have heard positive things about it.
Can you escape up to Surrey for a bike ride with Dustboy, he wants to see you again.
Not entered anything at present, might do a few sportives. Still getting used to the fact that my running days are over, but on the up side I have found aquabike events so can still multisport on occaisions.

I've now got a Kickr (got a mk1 second hand) and love it.

My rollers get more use than my turbo - gym has a watt bike
