Didn't know about this race and it's really close to home. And mainly flat too, great! My knees can't take the hills anymore, not good news when you live in the Dorset area! Nearly all my favourite training routes are out these days.
Hi Hilly, I'm in Bridport. I'm also fed up of wasting entries (due to dodgy knees), so I'll wait to the last minute to enter. I'm still trying to find a happy medium between regular training and not overdoing it. So frustrating, just want to get out there. What part of Dorset are you from?
I'm in Weymouth, so not far from you. I was going to do the Jurrasic Coast again this year in Bridport, but it was cancelled-such a shame as it's lovely race!
It is a great photo isn't it - a nice image to have when the runs/ races get a bit - well you know.
The photo came as a sample from M'Soft in the My Pictures folder. Do you have a copy on your PC? If not I could try and send.
Apols for delay in responding, I've just returned from Cornwall's Indian Queens half-marathon, beaches and subshine, ...kind of kept up the mileage and for guilt on the way home, switched drivers and ran the last 13 miles home.
Hope everyone's training is going well and we are all (mostly) twinge and injury free.
Don't worry oldhasbeen. He didn't say it was tough, just that it's described as a flat fast pb course and he disagrees it is. He says there's a hill that is quite steep which we go up twice due to being 2 laps, otherwise he said it's fine!
I'm still looking forward to doing it, hill or no hill!
OuchOuch-having looked, yes I do have the same picture in my samples. And there was me thinking it was a picture of some beautiful place you'd been to!:o)
Training going ok and niggles to a minimum, just need some speed now!
Thanks Hilly. I feel so pathetic worrying about hills. Up is fine but it's the down that does my knees in. Anyway, had a very good run this evening with a small hill so things are looking better.
ohb - from memory the only down of any significance is just as you approach Seaton towards the end of each lap, probably about 0.5 miles each time. Good news for those of us who are tiring, but perhaps not for your knees!
GWR's a good example, sharp uphills and long steady downhills. year before last I injured my shin (took a chunk out of it!) and it meant it hurt (a lot) while I was running downhill but not uphill, it was a bit embarrasing as I was almost limping, people would ask if I was ok as they passed me going down and then I would pass them going up!

I'm all alone on this little white page!:o(

Actually, she doesn't race very often anymore preferring to run fast just to stay fit!
I've still not entered, but I will do thos week.

I will send my entry off this week definitely!
A friend who've done Seaton about 5 times tells me it's harder than the race description lets on!
Hmm...bit worried now about the Seaton run now. Can your friend give us a bit more info?

If you want a set of results mail me and I'll send them on (though they should be on Runnersweb by tonight)
It's ok I'll wait for the results, not too fussed about seeing my under performed run! I guess 5k's are just not my distance!
Anyway, had a very good run this evening with a small hill so things are looking better.
When my shin/calf injury was in recovery phase it was the downs that caused most discomfort, but I do love running downhill!
Thanks for the info and I really hope to see you at Seaton.
........... if you see what I mean :-)
