Thanks for your suggestions, I determined as the bleeding Dentist (long story) won't beat me on this one either.
running clubs scare me I tried Les Croupes (I think thats how you spell it) and they were all very lovely but I felt so inadequate compared with those guys and again when i went out with Rio's bunch again lovely group of girls but I always feel like I'll never make it.
I think thats why I always enjoy going out on my own - no one to push me on - but then of course my time never really improves.
Plan is Get knees fixed get confident join Rio again for the run around Roath Park
More great posts since I've last been on the thread. Can't respond to all, but would say that even at end of marathon there was no real clear presentation of medal / goodie bag. Ended up filling up one myself to avoid all the c--- adverts and stick to the bits I wanted, er which at that time was none of it.
Still feeling better and been out on the road a couple of times this week. Tackle swimming again tomorrow, Monday morning was embarassing (I managed 4 lengths of a 20 metre pool before giving up!) Hopefully more luck tomorrow.
Good luck to those racing this week, esp Hipps and WP and anyone else I've forgotten who are running marathons. I'm choosing between Rome or Rotterdam for the spring, presuming I'm not in FLM this year. Oh, and getting some new kit, I need it!
Ahh the twitchy muscle!! Yes I know this well. The first time it happened I was absolutely fascinated. There was my quad muscle merrily jumping around all by itself in the middle of the night - sheer entertainment! BR kindly pointed me in direction of a link that explained it but can't remember what it was though!! Sorry ;0( Anyway it does happen now and again but more in my calfes. Not since mara though. Legsies still swollen up around the ankle area, achilles is skiving in the background awaiting......
Gently - You are the person that will push yourself on - no-one else! You can do this and that's the thing that's so great. A lttle bit at a time. The satisfaction of doing it is fab, no-one can take that away, it's all yours. You are already WAY ahead of the majority of the country by running and exercising. Remember that! And remember too that we all get times when despair sets in but we all do whatever to overcome it (scoobs likes to wail and shout a lot) and then carry on! Best of luck!
I enjoyed Cardiff so much I wish I could run a mara every Sunday.
Went for a very very slow 4.5miler this morning in the drizzly rain. Legs took some coaxing but after 15-20 mins I was feeling comfortable. HR a little higher then normal for the pace.
Interesting reading this thread. Wow Hippo that is a lot of miles you have covered. The stiffness in my legs has passed. Now I just need to get rid of the post race cold.
Will probably go for a slow run this weekend around roath lake as well. Maybe someone should start a club somewhere round there.
Morning all - did 8m Wednesday evening and felt great!! Most surprised!!
Tis just a little thing, and I'm sure the predominantly English peeps on here will think me silly, but it would have been nice if writing on the medal had been in Welsh and English....
Scooby thanks hun Ive printecd your message along with Berns (from before the rune)and I shall keep it then when times are really abd I shall have something to give me that extra push (that and the nasty dentist!!!)
Hipps - I didn't realise that you had done them all in 3 years. You really are super women.
Going off now to test drive a few cars then maybe a spot of XMAS Shopping - Sorry

Have a funny little pinching sensation across the top of my knee-cap tho - had that a few weeks before the race, if I'm honest. What is that?

If you should be passing by today and read this could you just remind me of the thread where you posted your report on the race.
Cheers
Andy

It's on the FLM06 sub3 thread.
Post here again if you cannot find it.
Fits in with my name.
Cant believe you were motoring along at that pace 4 days after a marathon. Credit where its due.
