TR - yes okay thanks - guess find out one way or the other on Sunday. Well done to your brother. This will be my 46th and already have 3 lined up for next year so just one more to decide on to get to 50. Wife and I have entered San Francisco marathon next August so i may make that my 50th - god this is getting sad making my summer holiday a trip to a foreign marathon, why can't i just go and lie in the sun like most normal people.
yeah, I should've given this some more thought!!! I may not be running but I could've come along to SUPPORT and see youse all too late now - the Hayle club had a mini bus going up, I was on it last yearit's only 60 miles away from me here in Penzanceam thinking of you all ... and watching the weather, which should reach you in a few hours ... if it's still SW, which it was yesterday - but much colder than a usual SW - odd thatGOOD LUCKlook forward to hearing reports ...I'm off now to post my report from LAST YEAR on fetch ... I wrote one, then never posted it cos lost wireless internet connection in a storm last Nov ... didn't get it back till March!xxxxxxxxx

Enjoyed that....weather not as bad as feared but not great either - got pretty cold out on the moor with the wind and the rain. But very happy with the run, as got the sub 3 I really really wanted, 2:56:56, 7 minutes better than last year. Led or shared the lead to mile 16, and got back to 2nd place at mile 23 but then whoosh whoosh, the eventual winner and second impressively went sprinting past, plodded on and finished 4th overall. Really delighted with the time and the place.
The winner Jez Bragg, is a member of the UK 100 KM team, so no wnder he had a great finish.
Hope everyone had a good day out there and hats off to the helped and the girl guides in particular, what great people to spend their day in the wet and rain for us.
You said you had knicker on at the Five 2 Go marathon. So no knickers at Luton and you will get a sub 5hrs. And I feel that confident about you getting a pb I am go to fetch right now.
I have it on reliable authority in Cornwall (my Mum!) that the weather was absolutely foul today ... so I take my hat off to you. You earned the pasties
I ought to try this one sometime. Can't do the Duchy next year as it coincides with a family pissup to which I'm already committed. But the moors in November can be a bit wild and windy ...
Firstly, Well done to you all on running today, i was thinking of you while i did a poor 5 miler across the coast. It must have taken a lot of resolve to get through 26 miles in wind and rain.
Ouch Ouch. Thats a fab time for what i've been told is a tough course especially so soon after your recent successful marathon race (DMV), perhaps you've got the sub 3 timing down to a fine art, a fellow runner has told me on a number of occassions that once you've broken the sub3 you will always have the mental ability to break it consistently. (he's well up into double figures for sub 3 maras now). If you're headed back this way early next year i may see you at the Richard Burton 10k.
FA - Thanks and your pals right - 5 sub 3's out of last 6 mara's now, the pattern broken by Cornwall 06...so this one particularly enjoyable. It sure is a confidence and physical thing, as once you've broken a watershed time, you look and train for the next one....you also get used to running fast when your body is crying out to stop and start off a little bit more quickly.
Richard Burton 10K in the diary, I run it with a PT Harrier Wilko don't know if you know him - A triathlete iron man...
Hipps - well done, but I am keeping well away from this knicker thing. Swear I saw 2 lots of Highland Cattle, and one runaway cow just before mile 12.
Well done all - weather was pants, but I quite enjoy a bit o' rain! I resisted the temptation to stick with the faster guys this time, and ran a pretty even paced race to finish in 3:17:53, a whole minute faster than Duchy 2006 (couldn't quite catch ECH's Lisa Picton though, try as I might!). I've got to get that sub-3:15 at Duchy 2008, so that I have the option of direct entry to FLM even if I never bother taking 'em up on it.
My gang managed 3rd Team too, so there's a bottle of Magners waiting for me at the club tonight - yum!
Hey PH well done!! You'd disappeared off into the distance within about 5 minutes & that was the last I saw of you.
I was gunning for Mooey's Loch Ness time of 5:10 but checking my watch from 20 miles it became obvious that was slipping away. Dragged myself in at 5:25, but all in all quite happy considering the horrendous journey down & barely keeping at bay a not so nice cold.
Found miles 14-17 really tough going but after that started to enjoy it again.
Really was a fantastic event with superb marshalling - big thanks to the organisers. Was it worth the 1,000 mile trip to get there? Most definitely.

PH - you are mad

Good luck Sunday everyone.
Good luck for tomorrow to everyone.
I have reluctantly (and sensibly) decided to DNS, I'm still not 100% recovered from a virus so on medical advice will stay at home
That means you can fight over the spare pasty
Mad?
nope, not me
Stevie-you are starting to sound just a teensy bit obsessed
LOL!!!!!!
My glutes are really really sore
dunno why
heading off soon
looking forward to catching up with you all
xxxxxxxxx
sorry to repeat the message

another superb effort form the Cornwall Harriers
I got soaked through to my kinickers though
and did a surprising 5.10
Considering i was walking by mile 3-------------
Because i ffinished earlier(for a change), there was a huge queue for pasties, so Mr h wouldnt stay and we headed home
just as well-bliddy snow and all on the drive home
thanks to all organisers and marshals, you were brilliant
Good one Hipps!!!
Tracey
OMG!!!!!!!
Ithat MUST be it
I wore undies-and so i did not get a pb
Nothing to do with the hills------------
LOL Hippo! I know they say that for every pound lost you can gain 2 seconds per mile but I didn't think yours would be that big!
I had hoped to come down and cheer you on but work got in the way (yes, I know I'm on holiday this week but....).
I am very impressed with your time, Hipps, particularly if the weather was that bad.
OuchOuch
I am very impressed with your time as well but have only slight understanding of what it must be like to run that fast. Fantastic run.
All being well, tomorrow I shall be sitting in front of a roaring fire at a pub in Lanlivery.
well, i am almost a stone lighter than this time last year
yeah, course you will
Im only 4 pounds lighter than when you saw me at frampton
Im still a solid little hippo
Dam I can only bet upto 28 November.
K2
Hippo is now Porn Star Hippo.
Ah. I think I've got your four pounds..............
It was foul-but couild have been worse
we started in dull overcast conditions, the rain didnt really start till an hour in, and lasted for about another 3 hours
then i dried out a bit
this better than duchy
