Don't think we did. I'm coming up with a friend, so I'm not sure where we'll be when.
I decided to amend my beer offer...anyone who beats my time by more than an hour can have a pint on me...if there's more than one, 1 pint between you all and your own straw
I may or may not be coming up with Mrs42 dependent on weather and her qulaity of sleep this evening. I'll be looking out for you all anyway The front two or three runners may have a shout then kwilts?
I think teletext must be wrong kwilter, or is that spot the obvious mistake?
Well, although a PB by over a minute, it was not the sub 1:40 I hoped for: 1:40:30 (chip time), slightly gutted but couldnt have run done anymore I think.
My personal opinion is that the Torbay Half proved itself to be ALOT tougher than the Plymouth Half and WAY tougher than I was expecting. Those last two hills on the last lap sapped everything from me.
1.34.02, very disappointed but I forgot my watch and went way too fast at the start so only myself to blame! that was a lot harder then I expected though, too hot then too windy then too hot then too windy. I think exeter was easier, those hills were awful!
Kwilter: I also had a bad case of trots from mile 11 to the finish! Couldnt pull my tummy in for the finishing pics even!!!!!
Neil: i wouldve felt like crying if i forgot my watch; well done for bloody even starting mate.
I am heartened (albeit in a guilt ridden way) that I was not alone in struggling. Funny how those inclines were undulations on the first lap out, then became hills on the way back, then became abysses from which to climb out of on the way back on the last lap.
A new pb by 2 minutes (1:30.26), next year i'll get on the first page of results. Got in the top 5% just..
My first time for this one and it's not local (I'm back in Bristol now) but really enjoyed myself. Sorry i didn't get to show my face to any of you guys, we arrived with little time to spare.
I too felt the hills on the final approach - I had loads of people overtaking my on the downhills where i just got my places back on the up hills. Honestly feel i had a little more to give though which is a good sign.
Overall a good race, with a little more wind than i wanted on the return legs.
I'll be back next year and have plans of doing the Exeter also.
Not my personal best i founf the hills very hard especially the second time! Really enjoyed the day the support and entertainment was uplifting. Does anyone now of an easier course i would love to break the 2 hour mark?????
Sorry I didn't get to see any of you but you may have heard my screams of agony on Paignton Green coz I got cramp really badly. Just before the finish I had cramp in my foot and then whilst walking back across the green my calf cramped too ......... boy, did I sream!!
Wel done everyone. I was really dissapointed that my poor feet were not up to it, especially when I saw a lady wearing the Tshirt in sainsburys on Sunday afternoon, was really jelous. Still, feet are on the mend nicely now. MAybe next year.
Comments
"Two world class Kenyans and a Tanzanian flying in"...
Also mentions it's a 13.5 mile course . Get ready for a flurry of complaints from Garmin weareres on Sunday night!
13.5??? really???? thats a bit shit isnt it?
2 mile race pace today.
where are we meeting did we decide in the end?

Well done to everyone running!
That was a bit of a bugger wasn't it??
Personal worst by 2 minutes, bad case of runners trots. I think I managed sub 2:40, some git tried to pass me on the line but I got past him.
Nice to see 42, briefly. Think I saw 20 minutes (yellow vest, moustache?)

By the last lap, I was looking out for mountain goats!
One of the girls from my running group said everyone she spoke to got between 5 and 10 minutes slower than in Plymouth
Just checked and you don't owe me a pint of pepsi max;
And Plymouth is tough enough
I think it would have been just the day - i know Torbay course well - I've never been sure which is tougher out of Torbay and Plymouth
but the 2 laps can be sapping - phscyogically tormenting in my mind, especially if the leaders get to finish before u start second lap
Hope u all enjoyed it - we were at Malvern - last 6 miles in that wind was cruel
What a great race!!!!

Well done to every one who took part!
It was tough wasn't it?
I only managed 2.17

I drove 200 miles to Paignton on Saturday only to find I had left my running shoes at home in Shropshire.
Feck !! As Father Jack would say.
On no MB!! Bad news!!
I have a black toenail this morning and it's sooo painful.
The thing that aches the most this morning though are my back muscles ???
Maybe it was from Saturday night's dancing? Or from all those hills?
bad luck MB, I think i wouldve had to buy a new pair! what time did you get to torbay?
kwilter: Only thinking of my public and all those poor souls who missed out the first time
Idiot child
Got there at 5.30pm so the only Sports shop I saw was closed.
I had to laugh, but I've been the butt of many a joke at work today.
Shoeless Bleeder not appeal then?
Scary film clip 42!
whats you next event runnersbeen?
sharon: try Plymouth next year and settle an argument for us as to which is harder.
kwilter: scary? im not that ugly am I?
