Hmm .. think the quote unquote Privisional Results are a bit sus, coz with all due respect to the Coach with all his sandbagging a 5:10 finish including a 37 minute half marathon sounds a bit unlikely .....
I didn't see the incident but apparently a bus or coach overtook Squish and pulled in on her
Her first two questions were:
Is my bike ok and will I be ok for IMCH so she retained her grasp on the important things
Fortunatly there was a doctor doing the race and stopped along with Symes and KK to sort her out. I believe she got airlifted to the hospital with neck and spinal concerns but I'm hoping that was just precautionary.
Crashie was with her and is in contact with the people still at the race, now no doubt drunk or washed into the lake.
Punker's timings are consistent with my own timings and the garmin but i can see that the results are weird as they don't 'place' any of the ladies, they just squeeze them in. Weird!
nope he drove off without stopping. No idea if there are any witnesses or if Squish knows anything.
We are guessing its clipped the front of her bike and put the front wheel into either the kerb or crappy sidings and she's come off. Probably landed on her shoulder
But this is all guess work and until Crash or hopefully squish are able to shed some light it'll remain so.
If you're talking about 'coach BB'. I think I may have seen him on the run.......... although at the time he wasn't doing much running
I did hear about the guy at the end - he went down as some of our guys finished & I know he wasn't up when they left the finish area. Hope he turns out to be ok.
Mitten it was a scary sight, he hit the floor like a tonne of bricks and was convulsing. I felt panic at this as my hubby wasn't yet at the finish. People do some horrible things to themselves.
Don't judge me, but i DO have a photo of him in recovery position, his eyes were rolling..it was scary,
Another guy bent down to remove his chip and ended up spark out in the shape of a star on the concrete and a very young ginger haired lad was in hysterics as he clung to the railings trying to get his legs to move without buckling
There seemed to be alot of confusion at the turning point for the run.
to be honest it might not be a bad pic for people to see.
We allcome on here and laugh and joke about how little training we do and are usually found in the pub but I sometimes think the message dosen't get across that it is actually bloody hard out at there at times and it can mess you up. I know
if it was me i would not want other people to see me so vulnerable the description was enough for me - i don't need to see a picture of some poor bloke fitting
i take your point kathy that you were not taking a picture of him and apologise for inferring that you did

Calf i have quite a few pics of you, im the one who shouted at you at the start of the run
I'll pop a link to them on here for you.
What about the guy at the finish who was collapsed? It was frightening...i had to tell my boys to go away and play.
Oh the coach didn't start the second lap of the run.
He tried explaining to me his shoulder was sore
Just seen crashie and squish has a broken collar bone and is sore but fine.
Oh thanks for the shout Mrs K
Can't wait to have a laugh at the pics
Reasonably good news about Squish,.......if nowt else its a proper cycling injury
Is the beer flowing yet Deb
thanks debbo

Poor Squish
Poor (((((((((((((((Squishy)))))))))))))))))
Coach Barlos called it a day at 2K into the run, I think the old "drinking injury" raised its ugly head again, but he will be back, so I'm told
was it only 2K
geez,I saw him walking down the slope where the cars were parked and assumed he'd managed a lap.
Might explain the 30 odd mins for his run thou
