I spent all day on this too, had all the same problems, even had to get someone else to pick my kids up from school. In the end I bit the bullet, paid extra and got a charity place. So I have to raise £350; easy compared to the hell on earth of their website.
Took me 5 minutes via Asthma UK.
As you all say it had better be good with LOTS of toilets and perfect weather.
Good luck to those of you still trying and wish I had seen this earlier, might have helped my near nervous breakdown.
Yeeey, I'm in. Has taken since 8am since that was the time on the website when entries were supposed to open...should have known then that things were about to go pearshaped.
Lol. It's taken me nearly 12 hours longer to enter the blasted race than it will to actually run it.......
Yay am in too, just the 13 hours, am exhausted! Been a very boring and frustrating day but have to say some of the posts on here have made me laugh which has made it a little better!
Good luck everyone. Anyone going on to website still seeing the note "will re open shortly" just ignore as it does seem to be going through now.
Not entirely certain they've ironed out all the bugs- I reckon I entered after AM2 but am in the 1800's number wise- took a good 5 minutes to get the login screen to register rather than the 'sorry too busy' notice.
Good luck to all the other potential entrants- I suspect tomorrow morning may bring more grief.
Adam, on your confirmation email from Royal Parks it will have user name and password go back on to the website (if you dare) and click on login and enter details there it will then bring up number
check spam folders for the confirmation email "Account Details" from royal parks, gives your login details, login to find out you are entered and what number you entry is.

I'm such a slut! I've entered. All for the sake of a wooden medal and some nice scenery.
*HANGS HEAD IN SHAME*
Entered just after 11pm - number 6168. It took less than 5 mins and there were no problems.
Having read through this discussion I'm pleased I forgot about it today!
Hope it's as good as last year, which really was one of the highlights of my running year.
@BogStandard: what's your brigade then? Cheese and pickle? Bitter Resentment on Mighty White?
What do you mean "shame"? Shame on you for labelling people who aren't tight "the prawn sandwich brigade" that's what I say.
Sorry. Day spent hitting the refresh button.
