Guys, am about to send a link, but afraid it will probably really stretch the page. It's from Maporama and I'll do it just once.
Basically shows a route we could take from Traf Sq (good starting point), to Dover, swim across the channel to Calais, to Amsterdam in Holland, to Gent in Belgium, to Eiffel-T in Paris, to Granada right down in South Spain. Picked these spots simply because I know them and quicker on maporama. This ok?
Total distance is - 56k channel swim, 1700 miles bike/run
Biking in t'wind & the hail ? You are mad Lizzy. I save that for when I have to in the winter. I look at spinning like a turbo session, but with prettier views than my garage door offers. ;-)
I'll find you a bike, come in and sit down and defrost those fingers.
Sorry I have been absent, however I did do a mile swim yeterday. then 6km bike then 3km run- had to retire hurt as my calf did something strange, so am resting today, will swim tomorrow again as I don't use my legs for that.
Eww. Just reminded me - last week I took part in a class and the guy in front of my pal was wearing cycle shorts that had worn away at the back. Dunno how ?!
All the way through she just wanted to park her bike there !
You are forgiven. Could have pulled more than my calf yesterday as was being asked probing questions by a weight training meat head type, like does your boyfriend come down etc. Realised he was misguided when he started slagging off the gym even though it has 10 treadmills!
Ha ha- no he didn't he was disguised which is probably why I mistook him for a normal person, then he got on about bulking up and going from 9 to 11 stone (yawn)
Monique, we have a couple of blokes like that down my gym. They prance around with their arms almost horizontally out like a scarecrow because of the size of their triceps and pectorals (and other stupid names). They never chat to the blokes, just the good-looking girlies, reaching across to point-out what can be done with various buttons on the bike and treadmill.....giving them the opportunity to flex more muscles. And they always wear clothing several sizes too small- big enough for a baby to wear! And then strut up and down grinning from ear to ear on their monkey-man faces.....heh.
The best for me was when meat-haed no.2 took us for spinning class and went flat-out with us. It was like being in the army - he sreamed and shouted and had us go flat-out at top-gear, standing AND doing press-ups. Well he looked good to start with but after just 20 (of the 45) mins he ran out. We found out later he had to go and be sick in one of the gym bins downstairs. Just before I left the building he caught up with me and claimed he pulled out because he was:
a) ill b) had done loads of spin classes that weak and c) was a monkey-boy with a bicep for a brain.
That is soo funny, what is it with those clown pants? A friend of mine is a chef and she had one working in the kitchen with her- she got great satisfaction from asking him to pass her things from low cupboards as he couldn't bend down.
hahaha must be damn uncomfortable. i guess they want to show a bit of quad and gonad (although i thought muscle men had a prob downstairs because of steroids etc)
jj- I wouldn't swear to it being a foolproof method for spotting a potential murderer, but it's as good as any, eyes too close together is also very useful as well having a "shifty look about them"
