I was once 4th in a marathon, but it was out of 14.
I've just been for a run over the hills on the Moor and the cows were out basking. I wonder if they will be there on Nov 22. That will make for an interesting set of obstacles.
jumps up and down excited. Cath, Hippo's, Mr SJ, Corth, Morgs, Vicki and meny more all in the same place. This is going to be a interesting pub after. Have only met half these kids at Nottingham and that was only on the way round so don't think they known who the freak was chatting to them.
well done on Redcar, that's where my half marathon PB was achieved too, some five years ago.
Yes, big moo cows. It's all to do with the Freemen of the City and grazing rights. I think we'll be safe on race day though, they shouldn't be there then.
I did once get chased by a young one on the Moor. It certainly made me run faster.
I know this is slighy off topic but is the silksworth 10k still an event. As i moved away from north east many moons ago and have recently got back into running. I can remeber silksworth and fancy doing it again if it still on
Yes CC2! I'm thinking if it's flat, and cool it might be a good PB course. However, I know these pathways and they aren't that wide from what I can remember. I'm wondering if they'll stop people walking on them with their dogs for the day, otherwise it could get messy!
CC2 - I see you're aiming for sub 3:30 at London, the same as me. We could reassess after Sunday and compare our plans for Newcastle. A 16 week schedule will start at the beginning of August. I'm doing a duathlon in September but that shouldn't interfere.
I'm excited about this as a denial of London at the weekend I think!!
iam in seems stupid talking about this on other threads and not being on the main one. i take it from the post race Party that i need to book 2 nights in Toon.
yeah book 2 nights, looks like its going to be a great RW turnout and a great day. very much looking forward to mick buying me a pint of guinness afterwards
Never done a race longer than 10k which has laps.... bit scared about this, is it just one long feeling of deja vu or do you get some sort of weird pleasure at the end of each lap?! Don't want to be tempted to pull out before the final lap!!! Might wear a sign for the organisers "please refuse to let me stop at the end of lap 4" - just in case.......
i was actually thinking of adapting my training to do my long runs as multiple laps to get used to the feeling, instead of 1 long loop as i normally do.
Joopsy - the Town Moor is a mix of footpaths and grass (which can get boggy)and there is a hill on it but the course info says that it is using the footpath routes and is flat so I am assuming (hopefully correctly) that it goes round the small hill rather than over it!

I wonder if its full yet
Ian...did you say 'cows'
Mr SJ...yip, entering this was a very good idea
I also think the term 'crawl' as in 'pub' will be quite fitting after 26.2
Ran Redcar half yesterday. Got myself a nice shiny new p.b. of 2:05:02.

Yay, Mr SJ's in too!
Minni, we should pace eachother. We should be aiming for very similar times I'd imagine.

I'm in too, apparently it is full now.
So tell me Geordie type people, what is the terrain like and are there any hills?
