Yes, still off the yoghurt although I did have an ice-cream and a baguette and two welsh cakes today. I am a baaaaad man.
Chris, I guess you know best and don't get me wrong I am super pleased you are able to run but should you run if your knee is swollen ? I am listening (perhaps too much) to every little twinge right now and keeping my fingers firmly crossed.
Nice run tonight, easy going, plus 10 x 1 minute sprints up a bit of a hill to finish. I need to rediscover my speed so that is going to be my main focus for the next couple of weeks. Last long run of 17 or 18 on Sat I think too.
"...but should you run if your knee is swollen?..."
Or if bits of it have recently been pebble dashed and exposed TO THE BONE? As I remember it, certain people put their own patella back in the right place manually and yet still did very well in the marathon shortly after, and the rest of us thought that was all rather ill-advised!
Having said that FL, he is quite right, if it's swollen it's gotta be good to be mega careful.
We are a strange breed. I know I shouldn't run and really appreciate everyone's concern. But no one says don't go to work and batter it going up and down ladders and stairs with heavy glass and windows.
But saying all that, I feel much better after Wayne worked on them last night.
Thanks people, your concerns are appreciated and taken on board. Hope you all have a great day
Sue, best words I've heard in years, Thanks. There will be a pint or two in London for you. But you will have to phone my bank manager and tell him there is no money for him this month. Why is there always a down side.
Little Oliver fell in the cul-de-sac yesterday, I heard him cry so went to the door and bent over to pick him up and pulled my back. So I'm hobling about today.
It's nothing serious and will be back to it Sunday hopefully!
NR, I wish I could, they had me working in flats today. But on a good note( please don't all shout at me) I have been out twice today and got 15 mile in had my knee strapped up and it seemed ok, just a few twinges but no extra swelling tonight. And its only fluid on my knee and they say we should take on more fluids for the marathon so I'm opting for the camel approach.
Pie sounds just the job, you are right there WA. It always hits the spot for me. Perhaps I should have eaten alot more over the last 7 months of inactivity!!!
Cheers Guys. In a slightly sadastic way I'm quite proud of Oliver though as he got injured trying to barge past a 9 year old boy he was racing in the cul-de-sac (Running Ol's only 4!!).
I know for a fact she likes garlic and when I brandished the giant crucifix I keep behind the sofa at her, she didn't hiss, turn into a bat and fly out the window. Not that I noticed anyway.
Did about 6 hours of gardening yesterday then went for a 5 mile plod/cough/moan with the girls. I am really stiff today, even my hands! Must be the gardening, I'm not used to it!
Kev - watch out for running with off-spring, it can be very demoralising. One of mine comes out for the odd run and he trots along next to me until he gets bored then on go the turbo chargers and I don't see him. Also, he only eats fruit if I pay him and his usual status is horizontal or at best slumped in front of a computer, but he is still stupidly faster than me!

FL - as WA says, do be careful. Have you tried those knee straps? They are brilliant.
What are you like WA?!!! The mileage you do, you can afford to eat what you like. Good news about the yogurt.

but you'll be fine to run as long as you take it easy

But hay, the sun is shining.
Your bank manager has plenty of money. He won't mind.
Morning.
Lovely morning out there.
Wonder how long it took that pair to pluck those pheasants? - I was worried about what you had found there Alex!
Take care with that injury FL - now you have some more symapthy it will heal much quicker!! - Like Sue's advice
Nutty, how you doing with your injury? Behaving itself?
Boffin, it is amazing how many pheasant plucking videos there are out there on the tinternet.
Hi Guys,
Off running for a few days
Little Oliver fell in the cul-de-sac yesterday, I heard him cry so went to the door and bent over to pick him up and pulled my back. So I'm hobling about today.
It's nothing serious and will be back to it Sunday hopefully!
Kev
Evening all
Sorry to hear that Kev. Seems lots of us are suffering injuries at the mo.
A gorgeous day and evening. Ventured out for another little run this evening. It is so nice to be out again
FL - how are you this evening? Can't you fit windows in some bungalows for a while
Oh dear Kev. Not good. You need a pie.
Evening all

Good to hear your running better NR.
Kev, get well soon mate.
15 ! I thought I had done well with an hour plus 4 x 800m !
Do camels carry water in their knees then ?
FL - I am glad you got out for two runs today. It was a good day for it. Do take care of your knee though.
I am shattered this evening. Don't know why. Am in uni all weekend too.
Cheers Guys. In a slightly sadastic way I'm quite proud of Oliver though as he got injured trying to barge past a 9 year old boy he was racing in the cul-de-sac (Running Ol's only 4!!).
The perils of being a runnner!
RK - it must be in his genes!!! He will be running with you before long!!
Wide awake. No surprises there
Hello again
Its Friday
Morning all
NR, you must be a vampire
Top effort Oliver. That's the way !
Maybe there is 'something of the night' about Nutty despite her appearances.
