NR, sorry to hear you had your bag and purse stolen, that's more than a bit of a mishap! Must have been a nightmare sorting it out and cancelling cards etc. I'd still be seething if that happened to me.......
NR- I managed 3:28 happyish as full of cold and sore throat and would have taken 4hrs on friday night. Perhaps with a bit more training I may try and chase you around next year and get a decent time.
FF- Awesome time again , but you are getting a bit predictable now sub 2.45
WA- Hats off to Mrs WA and Jr thats a pretty good time
Pdiddy - thanks, I really wasn't expecting to get under 2:45 - I went a bit quick at the start and ran the first 8 miles sub 6 min pace and wasted about 3 minutes over the final 5 miles - had to sprint for the finish line and got in with a few seconds to spare. One poor chap collapsed in front of me less than 100 yards from the finish, hope he was ok.
My legs are shot today, and are killing me.......just starting my second bottle of wine, purely for medicinal reasons you understand.
Thanks FF. Lets hope I can get back to fitness. Its been a long time since I have run more than an hour so may take me some time to get back to winning races again.
I am sure you will be back next year really strong Nutty. Yes, I think I needed a good kick up the a*se about mile 15, and by 17 I was already 4 minutes off sub 3 pace
just read the post Sue.............brilliant result..............It must be so hard to keep going whemn it gets so hard..........
I have learnt in the last year that the pain is there right acrossthe board in a marathon fromn those finishing in 2 :45 to those past 6 hours..............if you push yourself to your limits on that day you will be in pain.........but to then finish is brilliant...
thinking about doing the pentrych hill race tonight just north of cardiff... we have never done it so terry is ggoing to do it and i will decide when i get there..running up and down a big hill isn't going to be easy and I have an aquathon on thursday
Congratulations Alex and Mrs WA That is a stormingly good run from Mrs WA - well done
Well done Sue, you can carry your marathon aches with pride - what a birthday bash!! Good job it wasn't a kiddies party or you would have had to do thousands of party bags!!

Hope we'll see you running in the next VLM.
Thanks FF. How are you?
The purse getting taken was inconvenient but didn't spoil the weekend. Had a great time
Fingers crossed I will be running next year too
Here is a clip of me finishing. I am in the top left box, with no shirt on.
PD Mrs WA did 3:49. She would have me point out that @ 16 weeks gone she deserved to be slower than last years 3:39.

Well done Pdiddy.
Cheers nutty, I only really pulled my finger out in the last half mile, once I had decided to stop feeling sorry for myself.

I tried to encourage you at mile 17. Hope it helped although you said you were tired in somewhat stronger language!!
Marathons are hard. Speaking to people, everyone had such different experiences. You did well.
NR - 2:44:55
Looking on the Welsh Athletics Championship results you'd have been well up in the medals if you had been running! Next year we'll see you back there!
Thanks FF. Lets hope I can get back to fitness. Its been a long time since I have run more than an hour so may take me some time to get back to winning races again.
Well done on your time.

FF, you in fairness ran once hell of a race. My legs would have to be amputated had I done what you did !
Thanks WA. We will see.
I am sure you will run a good marathon next year. You have had some bad luck with injuries so perhaps was not as confident as you could have been.
Morning all.
Back to it. Hope you are all recovering well
so when is the next pie fest? Pies are essential for recovery, whether you ran the marathon or supported !
Morning Sue
As soon as possible for pies Sue. Hope you are feeling good today. Hope all goes well.. Thanks again for a great weekend.
