Ohh im excited....although i wont know who you are tomorrow (except maybe mick and phil) who ill look out for...i know you're all there and so is the support!!!
I think I saw Bright Bimbler (were you wearing a red top, and turquoisey trousers?), I also saw Mick 'n' Phil, but when I saw you I was queuing for the loo and the 2nd time, you were zooming past me
A question my DH just asked me ... "did you get a medal?" as he saw some people with medals, were they purely for the full marathoners?
Well done to everyone today in difficult conditions.
I took photo's at about 1 mile in chapel ash, and then proceeded to the Newbridge on the Tettenhall Rd, approx 12 mile mark and 24 mile point for the Marathon runners, who came in during the rain causing me to get wet. Thanks.
My photo's as always are FREE to download. Just click on the links, and press the SLIDESHOW button in the top right hand corner and enjoy. If you want to download, click on the magnifying glass on top of the larger photo and select the size you want. All photo's are in 1024 x 768 screen size, if you want to use one as a screensaver.
I took 2,000 photo's today, so it will take a week to get them all done, so keep coming back. Easy way is to add the link to your favourites.
Well done everyone who ran today, hope you all achieved your goals! 1st ever marathon for me
Thank you too all of the marshalls today too, I thought you were great. Everytime my pace seemed to drop a little, shouts of encouragement and claps made a difference. Considering the conditions, you did the runners proud with your encouragement.
Wanted to say well done organisers too, my little brother's fun run pack hadn't arrived so I called Carver's yesterday lunchtime, I spoke to a very helpful and friendly lady who confirmed it had been posted but hadn't arrived. True to her word, there was a duplicate waiting at the tent to collect. Good stuff, thank you.
And finally, Bryan Dale was taking photo's today, check out his website over the next few days for lots of pics. As always, Bryan makes us runners look like superstars, and his pics are totally free to download! Here is the link folks; www.racephotos.org.uk
I thought Wolverhampton was flatter than that. I went off much quicker than planned and found myself racing against runners doing the half (nice group of people they were). The first 13 miles flew by without a hitch. I was well within my Target time. Then all of a sudden all the runners disappeared! I could see one runner in the distance so I concentrated on hauling him in. I did that within a mile or two and the rest of the race was pretty much the same except for the Hills that popped up from no-where. I had a right old battle with a tough looking fellow with 100 km on his shirt( nice one chap.) I held him at bay for as long as I could be he took me on the last mountain. I recovered fast and nearly got him but in the end I had to settle for 4th Vet 50. I did a time of 3.25.42. which is the best i have done this year. Thanks everyone for a fantastic marathon experience. I hope you all had as much fun as me.
Brian - I dropped Bryan Dale's website on there for new runners to today's event who may not be aware of racephotos. I made no reference of any 'competition' and likewsie your photos and time are equally appreciated. I have checked out your website as I was unaware of your service and appreciated your post detailing such.
Well done all. Thanks for the photo links! Thanks to the cadets, st johns, marshall and everyone. Rained a bit too much for the second half but managed a slower 3hr 36min today. I don't remember the hills last time I took part but ever course is different. Are there any links for results yet?
I didn't run it today, but clapped everyone who passed me as I waited for Husband at 1.5, 10, 15, 19.5 and 23 miles, and at the finish - so it's possible that I saw some of you chaps as you passed by. I'm pretty sure I spotted Bright Bimbler at the 1.5 mile mark.
It was Husband's first full marathon, so by default it was a PB for him today. Almost inspired to give this marathon running a go myself now - maybe a half though first, eh?

WOLVERHAMPTON MARATHON PHOTOS
WOLVERHAMPTON HALF MARATHON PHOTO'S
TO SEE ALL MY RACE PHOTO'S
Half Marathon only today in 2:22 …
Today we settled for the HM at Wolverhampton, we clocked a steady ( if u can call it that 2:22)…
I was never really with it at all, I have no idea why …. Just never ever got to grips with any of it…
But these things do happen ahh …
I was hurting around my groin after about 8 miles, I never got to have any control over pace, or mental stamina to consider going on for the FM…
So, were home safely, a nice day, an average run , what more can I say .. Oh yes , No regrets
Well done everyone who ran today, hope you all achieved your goals! 1st ever marathon for me

Craig, Bryan is a friend of mine and not a competitor. We are both past our best , but respect each other.
Well done Mick n Phil-i spoke to you about the Potters half at one point.
I struggled round the marathon nearly half an hour slower than last year. Quite pleased though as i havnt been able to train much
I did a time of 3.25.42. which is the best i have done this year.
Thanks everyone for a fantastic marathon experience. I hope you all had as much fun as me.

Your quite right. I told the first 12 women of their positions. The surprise on the first 3 placed women. They had no idea.
Will have a good go at uploading tomorrow. Got to go down to Swindon in Wiltshire at 10am, should be back by about 4pm.
