I'll hijack this thread with a little advert for parkrun.
In fact it is Liverpool's first ever parkrun!
Our first event will be held in Princes Park on Saturday (26th) starting at 9 a.m. - aim to get there for 8:45. We are meeting in the middle of the park by the green fitness gym.
It's free. It's every Saturday. All you need to do is register, print out your barcode and bring it along every time you run. The run is timed and your results are kept on the parkrun website for you to follow your progress.
Russell - I've dropped loads of hints to a workmate about Bolton's parkrun. Will have to look at the l'pool one for me.
All - I remember that Alan did a breakdown of the costs for a race a couple of years ago. The usual stuff stewarding, police costs, road closures, goodie bags, timing, medics etc etc. Made you really think about the costs involved. It might be worth him re-publishing the figures. In fact it may even have been as a result of me complaining about the cost of a race that he posted in the first place.
Alan, I would say just ignore the complainers but I know from past experience that you don't, but in a positive way. If they raise an issue that needs to be addressed you will do it. Thats why I know the marathon is in good hands.
The only problem with posting the cost breakdown here is that we all know what a great job Alan, and Yvonne do, and they don't need to justify it to us. The one's moaning about price and such don't look here, in fact the people who do the moaning generally don't look anywhere and just spout out stuff with no basis whatsoever.
It will be great to see you Alan! Hopefully we will be able to send lots of runners your way in the future!
Don't worry Redhead. You have a good excuse not to come! 17 days until Brighton!
I'm really looking forward to watching the Liverpool Half on Sunday. I'm planning on watching the runners at Parliament Street and then (via McDonalds) at the finish. Loads of Penny Lane runners will be there!
Russell - congratulations on getting the Parkrun sorted. My marathon training plan includes a 5K every few weeks, so I'll be bobbing along too I'll be spreading the word for you.
My weekend has just started! Loaded medals and branding ready for a day down on the start area. Here we go boys and girls!! And yes, you are all very quiet. Make some noise!!
Has anyone else found they've had a week of interupted sleep due to nerves & excitement, or just me? Don't feel nervous today, getting really excited now. Have been up since 4.45am tho'. Doh! Plan for today & tomorrow is to top up the sleep tanks and eat well.
OH assures me that he'll guarantee the alarm clock(s) are sorted, so I don't need to fret about Clock Change Chaos.
Redhead-im doing krakow on april 17th. this will be my second 22 and hopefully it will go well. the last one was 3hr15 mins so ill settle for that or a little slower tomorrow. training partner is away so doing it on my own

Hmmm Does that make me sound like a creep????.
Russell, it looks fab and very well done for getting it off the ground. Sadly, it's just a little bit too far away for me to pop along

I've just realised I end every sentance with an exclamation mark. Guess that's just the kind of guy I am!
Russell - Work commitments permitting, I should be there on Saturday.
I think we should get that lovely wife of yours running, never mind you! She keeps telling me she can't. I don't believe her!
Morning guys. This morning I have "almost" two sides of my face working together! See ya, Bell's palsy - it was not fun while it lasted.
Good news, LB

Russell, good luck with your inaugural parkrun.
No running for me today. Not even much at the weekend as it's taper time
Edited to say that by 'not even much' I've got 5 on Saturday then 13 on Sunday as I realise that everything is relative!
Hellooo! Is that better, Alan?

I've got nooooo running shoes and they are purple and silver. It doesn't get much better than that in redheadland as purple is my favourite colour.
