I'm ceam knackered so will chill over a nice dinner with HL. She's gone on a short job and I'll walk the dog (via the pub)
My cunning plan is on hold, before I could float it past her, we agreed that we need a new central heating boiler. It's a tragic irony that a new one of them is about the same price as two round the world tickets.
We've had a fab trip, come home with the same amount of children we left with, which is always good!!
woo hoo Far Far 3rd fastest old biddie
Well done Sue on being a brill teacher,can you come over and do a bit of home tution?
I work with 3 lovely teachers (a pair job share) One is going off to have a new hip; she had the other one done a couple of years ago, and another has been off since half term as her boy (12) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes they are really struggling getting him stable and you know what's ironic, he passed to go to a really good grammar school in Brum,. very academic boy and I remember thinking at the time, ahh secondary school is going to be tough for my lad he isn't academic (he's fab in lots of ways & I love him to bits, but you know what I mean) but now, well, health is by far the most important thing...
Daught & friend have just run 5k, with me on the bike and DD running along side, I've never heard so much moaning in all my life!!! At least my moaning doesn't start till the 18 mile mark !!
Well, I have been on hollibobs! - Lake district (60 miles walked! and sunny! - bumped into best freind's sister walking next to Derwentwater!), Lincoln to bring home a carload of Pippette's stuff, Chester for dinner, B&B and pampering (body polish, massage, facial) with 8 colleagues - we got told off for being too noisy at 20 to 10!!! and we weren't even noisy! then Southwell Folk Festival this weekend. Freezing and rainy on Sunday - Tshirt, 2 fleeces, padded bodywarmer and waterproof just about kept the cold at bay, and if I'd taken thermal long johns they'd have been on too!!!!!!!!!
Blimey Farty pants .. and its still daylight and everythnig !!
Spoken to Landlady today and she has another person interested in the downstairs flat (dont know wha happened with the young man and the greyhound) ... anyway, apparently this lady is a fitness instructor. How long before I can get her signed up to do a Tri then??
LOL Meldy - still prefer the idea of the young man and the houndie though!
I have survived the day and have come home with minor hobbling only rather than "great big drama queen hobbling" of yesterday so fingers crossed can get through tomorrow too - have now missed 2 days' training having done 2 great days prior - shows that training is bad for you
Off to fish the ice pack out of the freezer - laters
Firstly, the hapless boy James was in his usual PITA mode. I got home, walked the dog and bumped into Ex Para mate (one of the Mets finest now) he was with his stepson who lost his lower leg in Afghanistan. Had a beer and put the world to rights.
Got home to find HL on the phone talking to FIL. MIL has got colon cancer. She is 84 and not been well forever. Still a bit of a shocker though. I would imagine medical options are limited.
I'd just like to add that today i have FINALLY managed to run my first 5k in a time of 39mins 55secs, am well pleased but bloody well knackered to ! Not bad going for saying i'd spent the last 9hrs on my feet, i can trully say i will sleep well tonight ! my knees ache though so am going to have some ibuprohen
Meldy - you want to be careful that new neighbour doesn't get *you* signed up for anything...
Welcome Nikki! Well done! Work at it slowly girl, don't try and do exactly the same every time you go out it's a recipe for disaster! And plenty of rest!
Nice to see you Pippi
long day, tired now, just going to jump in the shower (I'll thank myself in the morning, really I will!). Work away day tomorrow Absolutely NO work, a photography competition in the morning (which I invented ), quiz at lunchtime (which I compiled), and treasure hunt in the afternoon (er, yep, that was me too, plus someone else).
That's what you get for having one good idea. I guess that's why everyone else kept their heads down!
Can I ask for vibes for tomorrow please - all the specialist nurse posts at my trust are being reviewed - external people from another trust. So having completed a 12 page questionnaire, and kept a 2 week diary I now have to spend an hour being grilled and justifying my existence.
Think down grading is definitely on the cards, hopefully not redundancies but who knows.
Have a great day, Daffy, it sounds as if you have earned it.
~~~~~Amandax~~~~~ fingers crossed too!
Yumms, we are cruising round the coast of Great Britain. Unfortunatey, I have just heard that our proposed meet up with OSN is a no-goer because the family have plans for Fathers Day. Perfectly understandable, but disappointing all the same. I also presume that, given recent events, we will not be able to meet up with Westie either .
Just the 'last minute' stuff to do here - change the sheets, empty the bins, leave a note for the neighbour, get showered and dressed ...
Will be thinking of you all and will wave as we sail past.
*waves* to Pippi, I was wondering where you were, thought you were locked in a stock cupboard somewhere!!
I am back at the crime face and only had 97 emails to deal with ...
I think I read back in a previous life but retained little, I have to say that summer waited until I was back to make a reappearance !
Can you not have a holiday again then Meldy
Strange old day Noggs ..... Is Mrs Noggs ok?
Welcome back, Pippi, I thought for a moment that you were saying you had been in the attic all this time ...
(((Noggy and HL))), this kind of news is always a facer, however old the person concerned.
Praps your landlady told the young man with the hound about you, Meldy .
Am I missing something? How can people just be 'down graded?' If they have been doing the job and are qualified!? Makes no sense to me at all .
Isn't it the job that gets down-graded not the person? It's all a mystery to me. Good luck for today Amanda.
