afternoon all. Not sure if Stu or Phil have posted anything up yet, but P&P have agreed a 25% discount on food and drinks for medal holders. See everyone there...
Dizzy, in the past the tunnel has been slightly lit, but I found that you have to reduce speed anyway, your not going tobash your head or anything (unless you are 6'6" +) Its about 400 yards long and probably you wont need a torch. Remember to take your sunglasses off
Perhaps one of the organisers can confirm if its going to be lit........
Dizzy - definitely loos at start and finish, but none en route. You might be able to sneak off behind a bush like the fellas if you really needed to I suppose!
My knee is a bit better so I should be able to get a few more long 'uns in beofre a week on saturday. 25% off in the Pitcher should also ensure I get a few ciders down me afterwards (for re-hydration purposes obviously).
Chris, Spence did you run the asics Arden? I used it as a training run. I hope I'm ready for this, it is just the geese droppings that is worrying me and the fact that I can't take my glassess off for the tunnel because I can't see with out them. (They're photochromic lets hope they live up to the Hype eh)
Trust you have all had your email update? Details along with race number and attached chip will be posted toward the end of the week.
Thanks to Adrian for the Pitcher & Piano offer - always a popular post run "haunt", may even get the odd tunnel ghost there too . We have boats in place at 6,9,12 miles plus a "static" drink station at mile 3 so please be nice to the good folk (we know you will be) as we count on them year on year.
The tunnel - yep it's still there, it's still long and it's still dark but we will have some basic lighting in there. Basic is the word though so as per previous posts, if it is sunny lift your shades
The lovely people who are rebuilding half of the road network around W-ton station have left some scaffolding up around a bridge 200m after the start but have ensured it is wide enough to run by. Please do be aware of this though - no chatting to your bessie mate and not looking where you are going!
We have a good team of marshals but are always happy to have more so if you know anyone send them our way. info@bbchm.co.uk
Trust you are all carbo loading on pasta and marmite.
Cheers - see you SATURDAY July 2nd (yes we still get one or two who roll up Sunday).
EL3, yes I ran the Arden 9 and now I have a sore knee , hopefully it will be fine by this weekend though so I can continue training. At least this one will be flat in comparison !
