Aha - I have discovered why it was saying service unavailable. You have to go to the home page which is actually labelled 2012 rather than the one that says registration (which has 2011 on it) just registered myself will update the list...
Jings, OO. You might have to take the juke-box apart to cobble together new legs.. Could you just dawdle round Paris and save yourself? Or run Paris and dawdle round London? Or just have a nice weekend in Paris with Mrs. OO and get behind the tressle-tables with the spongers? The M de P jackets are really quite cool and you'd get a close-up look at the Elite.
Roof gimp, you'll probably only get biased advice, here. It's flat and the course is beautiful. It's also very crowded and the whole jaunt will probably cost you a fortune...What more could you want?
Thanks, Never Give Up Girl. I finally got shown a form once I went back to the home page and back in again, like you said, and now I'm all booked. Yay! Now to um.. do some running. Ahem..
I've no idea, Roof Gimp, but I've gone for it and I'm an utter Pink Bib! :- D
Roof Gimp - Paris was my first marathon yes its a great experience very quirky not as crowded as VLM though. ATM is right it is expensive but quite a nice little trip for the family. When I mentioned marathons to my family this year young Master NGUG who is ten instantly said he wanted to go again
Oh yeah, should've said, I did do London first, a few years back. though I'm all unfit again now. But I reckon Paris should be a bit of an experience. I heard that they give out wine en route as well as water. Is that really true?
Oh and how good does your French have to be? 'Cos mine's kind of lousy.
It's a good first marathon Roof Gimp - flat, wide, scenic, well organised, great atmosphere, wonderful city. Did it as my first, now back for a third time!
Blimey this is a popular thread, I am just waiting for Mrs Roof Gimp to text me back, we are in New York in March for my 40th so what the hell Paris in the springtime and all that - also Mrs RG is fluent in French so she can sort out the accomodation etc.
* Not offering odds on Mrs. RG texting ' No. 'Don't want to go to Paris in the spring...*
pixelwitch, you'll have Mrs. RG to translate And, yes, they do offer wine..and beer/sausages etc etc...You may not actually feel much like having some cider at 35k....but who knows.
OO - I think I have experienced exactly the same pangs of jealousy at the prospect of not running in Paris due to VLM. I still ahven't confirmed my postponement of my GFA place in London....
Maybe we could do the Paris Marathon up to Bastille? Stop, cheer on all the following runners from this thread, have an expresso, mosey on over the road, and then wait an appropriate amounr of time before running to the finish. That would be &+21kms. Doable the week before going for a fast one in London I reckon.
The last time when we both ran Paris and London was two weeks apart, and it wasn't good for either of us....
Or there is the option of giving out wet sponges (although an expensive non-running trip for you I think)?
what to do....
A tiddler of a run today, almost finishing my Berlin Un-Taper period.
Somehow it feels wrong to sign up for Paris until I've got Venice nailed - you never know, a leg might fall off or something. I'll keep an eye on the registrations though in case it starts to fill up. Either way, am planning a month of very low mileage in November.
Cant guarantee to update so quickly tomorrow but if you have your bib number do post and I will add you to the list...
Off tomorrow with Ms NGUG for uni shopping... bit of a roll for her over the last couple of weeks first choice at Uni and first time pass on driving test yesterday ... think she should choose our lottery numbers this week LOL
Yes very jealous- killer aint it Tricky. I'm taking the whole family to London, so a w/end to Paris as well seems a bit excessive for a jog- if I go, it's to run and bugger the consequesces. Mrs OO will need a lot of persuading, I need none....

212 days is time to train, lose all your fitness and train again! I'm starting in late December, personally (albeit from an OK level of base fitness)
