i am lucky. It is a nice gym with great equipment and great facilities.
I know it has made a difference to my life
Even though i am still a bit of a bloater i am much less now and I know I could run a half marathon and be breathing evenly at the end when the young lads in the office would have caved 6 miles back.
There is a wide range of people at our gym; from ladies who do classes only to older ladies and gentlemen to people who are very out of shape to "mirror-gazing tossers" who grunt and swear a lot (bad form imho).
Mostly they are people like me: not racing snakes, not olympic standard but a heck of a lot better than they would be if they sat at home 7 nights a week scoffing Maltesers and watching Corrie.
Hi Everyone - been out all day so just catching up. Seems you've all been busy and very motivated.
I've been out plodding too - Mr M and did the Serpentine 10K, very enjoyable start to the year. Forgot to set my watch so waiting for times to appear on website but think I managed it in aroun 63/64 mins which I'm really pleased with (did 20 miles Sunday so legs were still a bit tired) now looking forward to the marathon on the 13th
Little Engine - I used the Paul Mckenna Weight Loss System, Easiest way I've ever lost weight (and I've tried many, many times believe me) With this the weight came off with almost no effort , it's stayed off too - over 14 months now
Welcome, Egglett - give it a go! I thought it was a load of carp and wouldn't work for me - only tried it to stop Mr M nagging (He lost 6 ins off his waist using the system and kept on at me to do it.) Did you get the "New Edition" of the Paul McK book?? if so check out pages 138/139
Hi KK/WLF, Thanks for the motivational tip, someone said (Henry Ford I think) - "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can, you are right!" ..........and its nice to know theres some around to kick butt when needed You are also right about eating slowly; it's one of the "rules" in P McK system - Rule No 3, Eat consciously!
In the spirit of solidarity, I'll step on the scales tomorrow, tend not to bother now as don't really care about the numbers any more, I go by how I feel
It's a good job I'm going to shift the weight because I think I've just ruined a perfectly good dress because I didn't listen to the 'dry clean only' instructions on the label!! Good job sometime this year I will be a size 12 not 16 like the pretty dress!!
see I think I need to have a body info class cos I no very little about metabolism and stuff
just had a glass of milk (skimmed) and a banana for brekkie. Might attempt a run in a while? not sure yet. feel abit groggy today. ive been thinking too much
I weighed this morning for the first time in months - not as bad as I thought actually in the weight department, although I should lose 2 stone to be 'healthy'. The fat content has shot up though, even though the Tanita is not accurate, it does give an idea, 'specially if you use it the same time of the day.
I've packed my lunch box - how organised is that . Salad, cottage cheese and gluten free pitta, banana, apple and satsuma. I won't be eating more than that during work time, I don't get a chance, lunch is usually sitting in the car in between calls.
I've had my porridge made with water, and flavoured with a teaspoon of honey.
<polishes halo>
I must pop in here before cooking my tea tonight, so's I'm not tempted to go OTT
I've listened to my Paul McKenna cd twice now, I've made healthy soups ready for my lunches this week and I've got all manner of running kit in the car for if running club is on tonight, if it snows, if there's a freak rainstorm etc. No excuses, I need to ditch at least 2 stone, wieghed myself this morning and the numbers are hideously high.
I tidied up a bit last night, ate the truffles that someone gave me for Christmas and have packed away all the crisps & snacks. From now on they are only allowed out in carefully weighed and measured doses.
I have weighed myself today and I am 1x st 7lbs. I would like to lose a stone and a half, which is 21lbs so pretty much spot on the objective of the thread. I've written my weight down and shall weigh again on a regular basis.
Is there an agreed weighing day each week?
Apologies for repetition, thread zoooming along so fast.
