I agree with SOLB - we should put any naughty stuff behind us (generally does go on my behind too) and focus on the week ahead. I have just over two weeks until the bikinis come out - as in my summer hols - so time to focus on the task in hand. Lost a couple of llbs on Saturday's weigh in. Will wait until Saturday to put this on the 30th weigh ins..
WI day at WW today - will get my trackers and will plan and track well. Then I will make up a proper training program for my next race and not feast when I do what is planned!
I'm up for starting again too, what's done is done and nothing you can do about it so no point in dwelling on it! Mr TST is on board again now - made me go to running club last night even though I didn't really feel like it. Told me I wouldn't get any tea if I didn't go!!
Weigh in later today and am a bit buoyed by the fact that I do actually seem to have lost about half an inch off my belly!
Hurray NGUG, BWT and TST; loving the new start - I have embraced it. I think it'll be too late to show on the scales for our next weigh in (though hopefully it'll temper the gain) but I feel better. The food diary for yesterday is virtuous only fruit/carrot as snacks and three healthy, balanced meals Unfortunately I have got a raging stomach ache (picked up a bug when staying in the hospital) I'm hoping it won't de-rail me too quickly. Irritating timing to appear just when I've committed to stop skipping days or meals ~(leading to uncontrollable binges ... figured out what was wrong!!) Looking forward to getting out running too - my heart is much better and I'm booking a half today - just fiddling about with training schedules. I think things are looking up (sore tummy aside) YAY
SOLB - go girl Glad to hear that your dicky ticker is getting better and that the dust may soon be shaken off those trainers Sorry to hear about the tummy side of things
Why is it when I have decided to be summery today and left my coat at home that it looks like November out there??? Speed session for me at lunch time..
NSV - more bl**dy chocolate in the kitchen, lemon drissle cake, shortbread lots of M & S bits due to someone's birthday but I havent touched any of it - have to keep thinking I am going to be wearing a bikini in two weeks time I do not want to look as if I have been stuffing myself with cakes and biscuits..
SOLB - hope the tummy sorts itself out soon. And keep at it with the proper meals and snacks, that skipping meals malarky is no good for you and encourages you to store fat when you do it. Am sure you can do it though
NGUG - well done on the NSV, and remember everyones sticky little mitts might be all over that naughty stuff, and not everyone washes their hands after they've been to the toilet ..........
Sorry I haven't popped round these parts much recently but the truth is my mind has been elsewhere...
Some absolutely fantastic efforts from some of you on here!
I'll try and have a little read back...
Aaaanyway...
Many of you probably know this from other threads, as I've been rather rubbish at keeping the news quiet. But if you didn't already know...I'm pregnant.
I'd wanted to keep it quiet because even now I'm only around the 9 weeks stage, we haven't had any scan, and I'd have preferred to wait until after the first 12 weeks has passed before announcing it to the world, but I've been too excited to contain it. And things seem to be progressing as they should be.
So, this is why I haven't been focusing on losing weight. Sadly, the morning sickness (morning? Try all day!) has been making me feel pretty naff, and the main thing that seems to help is eating...
...apart from swimming, which also makes me feel better. So I'm trying to do plenty of that when I'm not too knackered. Did have a dizzy spell during a Body Max class, so have learnt a few things about keeping well fuelled...
I think I may now have lost any chance I ever had to get a bikini body, but such is life!
Not sure whether I'll be able to make a very successful weigh-in at the end of this month - I did manage to lose some lb a couple of weeks back despite already being pregnant at that point, but I think the eating may have cancelled that out by now...
That is a pretty cool excuse Lady P (()) congratulations I had afternoon sickness with my two but not morning... went on for about the first trimester (technical term there) and then I was fine are you going to continue running? The mum's thread on here always seems v.helpful/practical. Is it your first?
TST - LOL thanks you are quite right I am still contemplating the dirtly unwashed mits (bit more diffy if the offending cake/biscuit is virginally sat in their boxes untouched by human hand...)
Hard speed session at lunch time reached my MHR - must have burnt some calories off doing that...
Yes, it's my first. And planned (though slightly sooner than expected - adjusted to being off the depo injections rather quickly!) so all good.
Does mean I now have a deferred entry VLM place paid for that I won't be able to use (couldn't run this year's because of injury in the taper period! ) but such is life...
I've joined the Pregnant Runners' Club, which is a very nice thread.
I'm hoping to continue running properly again once I'm into the second trimester - I get the impression things will indeed settle down a bit. I'm struggling to do a lot of training at the moment because I feel so ropey.
Apart from swimming, which I'm endeavouring to do as much as possible of, as it makes me feel so much better.
I'm going to attempt Body Max again tonight, but with lighter weights, frequent rests, and plenty of fuel beforehand and immediately after...
Lady P - wonderful time for you PR Club seems like a r.nice thread I agree. Bit annoying re VLM but hey I am sure you will get other chances. I swam as well when pregnant - well floated as you get bigger you get v.bouyant which is a really weird feeling. Sounds like you are being sensible re body max etc. soon you will be content to just sit and put your feet up.. and get Mr Lady P to supply you with regular cups of tea and cake..
My mate at work has just commented that my lack of buying chocolate has lead to Thornton shutting loads of stores... self self...
Congrats Lady P. Great news! Just avoid the whole eating for 2 thing, it's rubbish! I puked 24/7 for 18 weeks with my first and worse with my second so sensibly stopped there! Eurgh at the thought!
Weigh in today, as predicted things are plateauing but pretty happy with what I have achieved so just trying to gradually get a balance of normal diet now. And not put it all back on due to stress.
My total loss is now 18lbs (as lost 2 pre official start) so would like to achieve 20 simply because it's a nice number whenever anyone asks!!
Ginger can help (I hate it) as can seabands. I ended up stopping all dairy second time round (and I'm not a faddist at all) but it worked. I'm OK with it now apart from cream. No bad thing!
Making cinnamon cake at 4am cos you can't sleep is probably not overly helpful if you're supposed to be on a diet ... I really need to sort it out Thankfully I haven't gained any weight though I don't know how cos I've eaten like a tramp on chips

Have been absent due to GCSEs - thankfully now over, so time to focus on self again rather than offspring - and no excuse of "exam stress".
Is July starting today - in which case, I'm still 165lbs () but at least, no gain. Aiming for 150lbs, so a fair way to go still.
I know that it's a team thing, but the idea, mentioned in last months' posts about individual goals etc would really help keep me motivated - or does that go too much against the grain?
Well done WW - can you join my team as I have not done very well at all? Still it is 1st July and I am 126 so I am with Jeepers new month, new motivation
Ginger can help (I hate it) as can seabands. I ended up stopping all dairy second time round (and I'm not a faddist at all) but it worked. I'm OK with it now apart from cream. No bad thing!
Yep - lemon and ginger tea is my default hot beverage at the moment, and I'm wearing the seabands constantly. I have almost completely cut out dairy, and have recently switched back to gluten-free after a craving-induced blip. Still feeling pretty but I'm trying to keep it at bay.
Not a huge loss for me this time but steady 9lbs overall I am not unhappy with that - was out twice this week so was quite pleased to lose anything at all.
Well done to WW too spectacular stuff
Is anyone able to do anything with our figures so we can see what's happening teamwise? Maybe WW could be added if he wants to one of the teams with non-participants ie. those who are coming off the list - just an idea..
*looks around the empty room, shrugs and talks to herself*
Is it permissible to eat lots of chocolate because I'm having a bad day and I forgot the gym closes early on a Friday?
Answer: a) no you'll only feel fat and rubbish afterwards b) no you never manage to do things in moderation and it'll turn into a massive binge c) why don't you have a piece of cake as well?
How great is your need SOLB? Sometimes a bit of chocolate is essential, and it is friday...
Since I committed to my personal Julyathon I have exercised everyday, done lots of extra walking on top and managed a decent calorie deficit every day, so I am hoping to see some downward movement on the scales next week

18 weeks!
I haven't been puking - just feeling horrendously, horrendously sick and exhausted all the fecking time.
I'm hoping it'll subside by the 12-week mark, but I keep hearing things which make me less hopeful about this.
Yeah, I know the 'eating for 2' thing is a load of old baloney - but up until recently eating has been the only thing that's kept the nausea at bay.
Today I seem to have lost my appetite, though...
Thankfully I haven't gained any weight though I don't know how cos I've eaten like a tramp on chips

really slowed down, I suppose eating giant choccy buttons doesn't help!
Is it permissible to eat lots of chocolate because I'm having a bad day and I forgot the gym closes early on a Friday?
Answer:
a) no you'll only feel fat and rubbish afterwards
b) no you never manage to do things in moderation and it'll turn into a massive binge
c) why don't you have a piece of cake as well?
How great is your need SOLB? Sometimes a bit of chocolate is essential, and it is friday...
Since I committed to my personal Julyathon I have exercised everyday, done lots of extra walking on top and managed a decent calorie deficit every day, so I am hoping to see some downward movement on the scales next week
